The February 2010 NPD Numbers have been released. For ill informed readers, the NPD Group is the leading independent video game research firm, that monitors and tracks video game hardware and software sales in North America.

It should be noted that Heavy Rain had a very, very short time on the market. 220k isn’t bad for 4 days of sales, especially for a game such as this.
At n4G.com the bots are having a field day with this. Little do they know, the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 by a 100k+ until last month in Japan.
Yeah, for every 50-60k 360 lead in NA, there’s a 100k+ ps3 lead in Japan, haha. PS3 still wins worldwide.
Also, Sony has been experiencing ps3 shortages (probably can’t keep up with the high demand) according to their GDC press conference. Hopefully they’ll have that taken care of soon.
i don’t get why ppl care so much about sales numbers , but im sure heavy rain probally sold under or a lil over a million world wide by now , it will probally sell 2-4 million over all if it does , than thats pretty good for a game like this.

why are you all talking about japans ps3 sale?. Europe sells 10 times more ps3′s than 360′s

why do you care that they care? you dont need to “get” why one would care for something like this. did it ever cross your mind that if one thouroughly enjoys a game, the probability of another one like it or a sequel becomes higher?
everyone cares about how well something they like or support sells, including you.
Hopefully sony tops the charts, and even topples Nintendo for once after march hits.

Yeah I see that highly happening. Although 360 might be close, with bundling Final Fantasy with their console as if it were their own. Pathetic, but in the SONY has to come out on top. March is God of War III month
