Confusion Brewing at Infinity Ward; Employee Morale “Extremely” Low

03/13/2010 Written by Dan Massi

If you recall, Infinity Ward studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella were forcefully fired from their company March 1st of this year. The two then responded by filing a lawsuit against Activsion, their parent company, for unpaid royalties. It seems these unpaid royalties are a tradition for Activision now, according to this new rumor.

According to Kotaku sources, Infinity Ward employees are holding out due to unpaid royalties. Many expected employees to leave the studio, but due to expected earnings, they are not yet leaving. Infinity Ward, traditionally, have paid staff either regular or low salaries. This is made up when the employees are paid massive royalties, to balance it out. The same sources also say that Activision is continually holding royalties back to keep employees at the company.

This is really sad that Activision is doing this. I personally think that cod mw2 was over rated. I hated the new maps, and i don’t like how cheap some things are in it. Also it is stupid how they just watered down the game then gave you things like full metal jacket and scavenger. Call of duty 4 did not need these things because the guns all ready went through walls and you had a lot more ammo. If anyone has not yet got bad company 2 i would recommend it, the game is really fun. It takes a little bit to get used to, since it is not an arcade shooter like cod. Also if you like to snipe, you have to get bad company it is awesome! Plus it is really cool destroying a building and watching it fall to the ground, o and down-loadable content is free! But for now i saw screw Activision!

You know how Kotick came back and said his mentality of fear in the workplace was just for the shareholders? Guess he was wrong. Activision has sunken to the lowest of the low, way beyond what EA ever did. Activision needs to be put back in its place once again. Hopefully Jason and Vince win the case and the IW employees get what they deserve. Kotick and Activision can go burn in Hell for all I care at this point.

I can’t believe I actually believed that selfess pig could change. Someone should get Trading Standards aware of this disgusting method of keeping employees, I hope they make the next call of duty they make the shittest, crappiest piece of turd the gaming world has EVER seen.

F**k activision they don’t care about infinity ward and thank you Bobby Kodick for giving me the news I need to stop buying all your products FOREVER. Your company can go bankrupt for all I care. Infinity ward should go on strike and if they don’t have their demands met quit and go to another games company.

I sincerely hope these guys win their suit against Activision. They have now become a simply despicible company focused on nothing other than money and greed with nothing but contempt for the creators of it’s most successful franchise (excluding WoW, it’s not really Activision’s in the first place) and consumers alike.

  5. JackC8 says:

Well, when you have a squad of goons invade a studio and then start interrogating the employees like you’re the KGB or something, OF COURSE employee morale is at rock bottom and everyone wants to quit and go someplace else. Kotick in his infinite greed has just just killed the goose that laid the golden egg.

  6. I am so glad I boycotted Activision last year. As probably the only person on the face of the planet that didn’t purchase MW or MW2 (or has even played either game), I am thoroughly enjoying that terrible company tear itself apart.

    @ nuclearwarfare

    same here

  8. I didn’t boycott them on purpose, they just never seem to release anything I care about. Or at least that’s my guess, because I’m looking at the shelf with my games on it and there aren’t any game caes there that say “Activision” on them…

  9. xST-ANGERx says:

Yet another reason to hate Activision more than i already do! NEVER will i buy another game with their logo on the front cover or in the game credits. They are an utter disgrace and an embarassment to trhe talents of better game studios (most of whom incidentally only make exclusive titles for Sony).

  10. Silenus says:

Kotick & Activision, “There is no link between low quality product and low levels of moral.”

Electronic Arts, “Yeah, we thought that too. Then we released Undercover.”

  11. The way I see this ending is the Golliath Activision buring to the ground like the Hindenburg.

Lets all sit back and watch Kotik burn like the Evil Money grabbing CUNT he is.

Go Infinity Ward Sue the bastards for all their worth and end the horror that Guitar Hero has become as well!
