Gran Turismo 5 has been heavily anticipated since it was first revealed at E3 2006. Now, four years later, we are still waiting for a release date. But don’t worry, Sony says an announcement is coming soon.
On the European PlayStation Blog, in a post on the latest GT5 trailer, European Brand Manager Penrose Tackie revealed that an announcement for the release was coming soon. In a response to one of the EU PS Blog members, Tackie shared this info:
Hi Killa_Cobra_ST – v.pleased you like the trailer. Completely understand that you guys are looking for a date. Please bear with us, we will be making an announcement on that soon.
Start revving your engine folks, Gran Turismo 5 is close to the finish line.

That’s good to know, especially since a lot of people are tired of waiting, including myself.
i like the game but wont buy it i learned my lesson beside it too real for me you alway have to get different license’s just to play .
The fact that an announcement may – or may not – be “coming soon” doesn’t mean that the actual release is coming soon. And as we learned with the Japan release date, it doesn’t mean that it will happen even after it’s announced. I’m just so tired of this soap opera. After all this crap, if this game doesn’t get perfect 10′s from every reviewer in the world, it’s going to be the biggest joke of the console generation.
We’ll probably see this headline in a week or so:
This just in–the announcement of the Gran Turismo 5 release date has been delayed.
no point in rushing things now (implied eyeroll)
All in good time folks. All in good time. Let Kaz and the boys at PD do their thing. They never throw us crap, remember that. I, for one, am still really amped for this, but am content with waiting patiently (as I’ve plenty of other games to occupy my time).
Of course, when it does come out, I’ll likely forgo sleep, food, water and other outside stimuli in order to play more.
@ Shamon85: I can understand that stance, however, the license tests are what introduce you to some of the more technical methods of driving. Not only that, but it adds to the replay value and overall game-time itself. (Plus, all bronze, all silver and all gold in the license tests typically earn you a car for each medal). My GT4 save has like 6700 days on it lol.
