PlayStation Looks on the Plus Side
We’ve long been awaiting more details of the so-called “Premium PSN”, ever since PlayStation user surveys hinted at the possibility that Sony could be planning such a paid service. Sony has just registered some new domains, all involving a certain name that sounds a lot like an added service.
New domains have been registered recently, all including the name “PlayStation Plus”.
All of the below domains are registered under the ‘SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT INC’ title, and have been registered via a Japanese domain registration firm. Could it be the PlayStation Network premium service hinted at in the survey?

as long as PS Free is the same as is now, i dont see nothing wrong with PS Plus
I totally agree. I’d probably pay for the PS Plus in any case.
I bet at E3 we’ll hear more about Playstation Plus

Funny how I complain about XBLA costing $50 a year, though I’d pay the same for a premium PSN service. Does that make me a hypocrite?? ;P
I really dont want PS Plus.
But seeing as its going to come, i hope they dont make voice chat a PLUS feature. Because then half of the people youll want to talk to wont have it! making it POINTLESS!

depends. Are you complaining about pay $50 a year to play online, or are you complaining about pay $50 for the features?
As long as I can still play online for free, I don’t care what they charge me or for what.
I don’t think they will be charging $50 for the premium PSN service. It would be pretty ridiculous to charge that much when we’re already getting the main service, which is being able to play online, for free. Either way I won’t be paying for any of the premium services unless they come out with something fantastic that I have never heard of before, or if they come out with some sort of “pay for unlimited downloads” plan. I definitely don’t need cross-game chat or any of the other things that XBLA has right now that PSN doesn’t. I quite honestly don’t really like being interrupted while I’m playing games so I don’t need anyone to talk to me while I’m playing unless it’s a team based game like MAG or a co-op title. But, obviously, I am one of the very few who feel this way.
I agree that their premium will not be $50, for the reasons giese stated. But I DO believe cross game voice chat will not be free…
…and it shouldn’t be.
As long as I can play games online for free I don’t care. There would have to be some pretty kick ass stuff featured to make me want to pay a fee.
Really curious to know what this premium service will be. As long as online play remains free, that is the most important thing.
I hope they announce this premium service asap. I wanna subscribe and see what they got.
Man I can’t wait to get the whole story behind the Premium Service situation. Because as long as Sony has both schemes running at the time they’ll keep their fans happy. Most will check it out just for sake of it.
Why is everyone “hoping” that online will remain free? How many times do you guys have to read about SONY reps saying that it WILL remain FREE!

the free PSN is already great for me. I wish that they make any PLUS be payable by PSN cards or accept more countries.
i don’t care about cross-game chat, & sure hope it never be added for free. people might use it as a free ‘skype’ alternative & make the network slow for other purposes.
i’m not sure of what i would like still..
