On Xbox 360, Bayonetta has been one of the best received titles so far for the platform. For PS3? Not so much. The PS3 version of the title was plagued with excruciating loading times, screen tearing, and glitches. This somewhat tarnished the image of Platinum Games, who handed the development over to SEGA for the PlayStation 3 port. However, the developer wants to change their image around, with their newest title Vanquish.
Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, who is helming Vanquish, has explained why the title will be using PS3 as the lead platform.
“The team know less about making games for PS3 than Xbox 360, so we thought the sensible thing to do was to make the game on PS3 first then move it over to Xbox. If we can get Vanquish to a certain standard on PS3, we can make Xbox the same.”
Vanquish hits Winter 2010.

The only way to change their image would be to issue a massive patch to fix all the multitude of problems with Bayonetta. And then it would be too late anyway for all the people who already played it.
I think they could have worded that better, sounds like they are saying the ps3 version will be holding the 360 version back.
Awesome. Might take a look at this ounce they get some more content to show on it.

That the exact impression I got from reading that.
