haskell420 – I don’t want to break your heart but they aren’t going to release an add-on PS2 emulator…and if they did it would be kind of spendy so you might as well buy a PS2 somewhere. If we are ever able to play PS2 games again on the PS3 it will be through downloading the games through the PS Store.

darkangel269 – just because you don’t think it’s news doesn’t mean it isn’t to someone. Is it a huge story? No, but I still think it’s kind of cool that Sony included the possibility of packaging any game with all consoles that are sitting on the shelves. I love this site because they cover every single tiny little detail that they can find out about the PS3. They may cover some really trivial things, but they also never miss anything big so I don’t see how you can complain.

that is the worst secret ever. a hole in a box? seriously? I love this site and I read it everyday, even if I dont always comment … but this may be the worst article I’ve read to date. I am sorry, but a hole in a box is not news and unless you are trying out for radio or Sitcom writing, the teaser was a huge let down.
I was waiting to find out some cool secret after the break and you told me about a hole in a box.

The PS3 slim is hotter if you watch that video. But if you notice, more of the heat is kept inside the system and not output into your room. When I was in university I had a PS3 fat and in the summer that thing would cook my room up to ridiculous temperatures. The slim definitely can’t double as a heater.

The PS3 Slim does use less power but may not be as efficient as its predecessor. All electronics these days are built to withstand high temperatures and as long as the main components are kept from overheating then there should be no reason to worry. The slim is definitely the better choice. My PS3 Fat got the YLOD and I bought myself a nice new PS3 Slim and I honestly like the slim more. Backwards capability is for people living in the past. Why would you buy a PS3 if you want to play PS2 games? We’re in year 2010 for christ sakes…

You know what that SHOULD be used for? A external Hard drive…maybe a back up HD for DLC.. even possibly a added storage device for movies and BD LIVE.

But, do you know what I think it SHOULD be used for?

A PS2 Emulator extension!! Hook it up to the back, or side, whatever. It’s got the emulator in it, AND can fit the PS2 memory card!!

i also think the Slim interior gets very hot. If the slim is being used on warm climates, the BluRay disc comes out ridiculously hot, i started using a laptop cooler to deal with the slim poor ventilation

haha it has a cooler interior temperature my ass!!! i have a fat, and my gfs brother has a slim, his slim overheats 90% of the times that he plays it, mine has never overheated, and ya can touch both (both sitting on the same surface) and the slim is way hotter. and its not just his, 2 of my friends also have the same problem!

I have a launch slim and my box also has that slot/portal on the bottom of the box. It is taped over like indicated.
