Retail Lists MGS: Rising, Crysis 2 for September; COD 7, New Vegas in October

Well, this was unexpected. A potentially massive list of release dates for various PS3 titles, has been leaked. The rumored listing comes from major UK video game retailer, GAME, who has seemingly revealed a number of release dates that were not yet announced.

The list of release dates covers titles from March to TBA 2010. Among these titles, October seems to be their biggest resting place, with Band Hero 2, Call of Duty 7, DJ Hero 2, and Fallout: New Vegas. Strangely, a listing for James Bond Racing was posted as well, which is currently an unannounced title. Apparently, this racing title will hit in October as well. For September, we’ll be seeing Brink, and Crysis 2 – which received an exact date of the 24th. The most surprising listing out of them all is most likely Metal Gear Solid: Rising, a title we didn’t expect for a while now, considering it has almost no information whatsoever. Rising is set to release the same day as Crysis 2, September 24th.

Now, we advise everyone to take this as a rumor. Don’t get to excited, because it could easily be a fake. As release dates hit, don’t forget to check out PlayStation LifeStyle for all updates on PS3, PSP, and PSN titles.

    Rising isn’t an MGS title as metal gear solid is suppose to be a Playstation exclusive.

    I don’t think Metal Gear Solid is “suppose” to be PlayStation exclusive. The series didn’t even start with PlayStation. :P

    We could also point out Metal Gear Solid for Gameboy Colour, and The Twin Snakes for Gamecube as well. All in all, I don’t think it’s very fair to say that Metal Gear Solid is “suppose” to be PlayStation exclusive. ;D

    yeah well there’s always a single iteration of a franchise that sets the franchise itself booming with popularity and success, whether it be Final Fantasy VII, Uncharted II, Street Fighter II, or Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Just because there were games before, doesn’t nessecarily mean that the franchise had enjoyed equal success and praise as the landmark iteration that put it on the map from then on.

    So while Metal Gear was on a PC and then NES way back when, it was in NO way as popular as Metal Gear Solid… and that particular iteration started on the Playstation

    We know that Kojima loathes Rising and doesn’t consider it to be part of the canon [remember that Peace Walker was previously titled MGS5]. It’s entirely possible that the official canon MGS games will be exclusive to the Playstation brand but now they also have a spinoff series that will be multiplat.

    From what we’ve seen of Raiden in the two games he’s in, coupled with the fact that the game’s tagline was changed from the long standing ‘tactical espionage’ to ‘lighting action’; there’s every indication that Rising could well be a swordplay focused action game with stealth elements tacked on. This would certainly fit with Kojima’s sentiments that the game doesn’t fit the MGS series. Even if Rising turns out to be a good game in and of itself; it’s not going to feel like Metal Gear.

    Anyone notice the list has Haze ( a under whelming) PS3 exclusive coming ut in 2011 on 360 also The old republic which is a PC exclusive ATM is coming to 360. I the time frame for the ecxt cod is a given but i dont believe this list

    Remember, take this rumored listing with a grain of salt. Especially if it lists Haze for Xbox 360. :P

    why do people think of salt as a negative connotation, it doesn’t make sense to use that phrase. l like other people love salt on our food therefore l don’t understand the reference to salt here.

    End of rant. Remember people take this rumor with a slice of pickles for l don’t like it

    people like salt but you don’t dump a heaping pile of salt onto your food now do you? Hence the pharse. James Bond Racing sounds quite good I wonder if it’s a new game of if their just remaking/placing the old version onto the PSN.
