Final Fantasy IX Takes First Steps Into Digital Debut
Considered by many one of the most underrated games in the series, Final Fantasy IX might soon be appearing on PlayStation Network. Both Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII have made their respective debuts on PSN, will FFIX join them?
According to Andriasang, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto has been gathering some feedback from the Square Enix Members twitter lately on Final Fantasy IX. He states:
“Thanks to everyone for your opinions on FF9. Regarding an FF9 download release, everyone is so passionate about it that I’ll be proposing it at the next board meeting. Look forward to next week!”
Apparently, your voices have been heard and he is off to suggest the idea at his next meeting to bring the game to PSN. This is just one of the few steps into an eventual release of Final Fantasy IX on PSN.

Good. I own 7 and 8 on discs, but not 9. I’d pick this up in a heartbeat.

This is indeed a very underrated game. I played it and enjoyed it very much. When are the PS2 games coming dammit?
OMG finally some word on this I will be waitting for this one to hit the PS Store. I have played this one and lost my disc back in the day and know I will be able to finish this one off once it hits.
For some reason I couldn’t get into this game for the longest time, then all of a sudden during what must have been my 10th playthrough of it, something switched on in my head and I suddenly realized how incredible this game was. It’s catapulted up my personal rankings of FF games since then, maybe as high as #3 or #4 on my own list.
I own the PS1 versions of all the FF titles, but I’ll gladly buy them on PSN so that I can retire my discs once and for all.
actually I have this on ps1 only because my friend was a trash guy and someone threw out some games and he picked them up and gave them to me lol…. and everyone here is my prediction ‘PSP2 with its Xbox like graphics will be able to play PS2 games and that library has over 1200 games’
OMG FINALY!!!!! ive been waiting for this on the psn since i herd they were gonna put ff7 on the psn. this is one of my personal favs right next to 7 and 6. CANT WAIT! thanks sony finaly lisinin to the public!
