In August we reported that David Cage was pondering the potential of the then unnamed Move for the gaming world. Considering the recent news of current PlayStation titles that will support the Move at launch, Heavy Rain fans are wondering if there is any update in store for David Cage’s “interactive drama.”
Chief, a dutch gaming magazine, released an article about titles that support PS Move, like LittleBigPlanet, Eyepet, and SOCOM 4. Curiously enough, Heavy Rain is included in this list of games, along with titles debuted during Sony’s GDC press conference like Move Party and Motion Fighters. Although this is not official, Heavy Rain receiving Move support has long been speculated, so consider this just short of a confirmation.
Do you think PS Move will heighten the Heavy Rain experience?

I kind of hope no. The downfall for motion controllers & almost every wii game is when you simply do random moves to play the game. I would imagine this is what would happen for a post release update to Heavy Rain. If you just turned the move motions into the moves normally performed by the analog stick then that is not enough. I would want to walk via move, pick up/examine objects via move, etc… probably more work for quantic to do than they would/should put in. Here’s hoping for Heavy Rain 2.
@ Draegen.
I agree…
On a slightly different note, how many of these articles are going to try and find a catchy way to say “move” in the title. Its getting kind of annoying. I think their over using it.
I doubt that Move integration will be like the Wii’s. I believe that it would be about picking up objects and even throwing them and be able to do the fight scenes with a little more skill rather than button mashing and stick movements. The Sub Controller would have to be involved or maybe a second Move to do the fight scenes and get you off the “F” couch and your lazy arse.
I wouldn’t consider the fight scenes in Heavy Rain to be button mashing SPD55. Sure they aren’t complicated, but they don’t involve mashing a bunch of buttons repeatedly and mindlessly. It’s about button prompts and timing…I do agree with you though in how the Move should be used with Heavy Rain though I don’t think that is how they will use it. I just don’t really know is if it would be possible to change the entire way the game is played, with specific movements rather than button prompts, with an update. It kind of seems like something that would have had to be included and programmed in from the beginning, either than or it will be a MASSIVE update. So I have a feeling they would leave it to button prompts and similar movements with your arm as they ask for with the right stick and therefore in the end I don’t feel it is necessary because that wouldn’t really add anything to the experience.
Well let’s just wait and see what they do with it. People really need to have confidence in SONY’s Move. Stop with the paranoia of Wii like similarity, the MOVE is much more accurate than the Wiimote, it can allow for so much more functionability. Didn’t you guys learn anything from Kevin Butler? “Real boxers don’t fight like this” (*flails arms pathetically*)

I’m curious to see what they do with it. I think if it had been done this way in the first place, there was potential for the game to be more immersive and natural feeling. Now that the game has been released and they’ll have to patch it in, it might be limiting to how they do that… I wonder if they could achieve the same effect.
