It looks as though the PlayStation 2 isn’t quite finished yet. Although the console isn’t getting huge titles like God of War anymore, it still receives the occasional PSP-to-PS2 port. So then it’s not really surprising to be revealing this new ESRB rating, which possibly confirms a release of Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow for the PS2.
The Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow page on ESRB has been updated, now listing the title for both PSP and PS2. The game’s prequel, Dark Mirror, was also released for the PS2 after it’s release on PSP. We can only assume at the moment that Logan’s Shadow will go in the same direction, and soon appear on the PlayStation 2 platform.

Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow released on October 2nd 2007.

I don’t know how I feel about the PS2 still getting support. I mean with this happening, there’s no real indication that we can see PS2 games on PSN anytime soon. and I want PS2 games on PSN dammit
offtopic….You guys no longer do Deal Sundays? I love those post because I can find all the deals without having to search multiple sites. Can you guys bring back those Deal Sundays post
we need a brand new syphon filter game for ps3.
I can only hope we get a new Syphon Filter for PS3. I wonder how much Logan’s Shadow will be on PS2 maybe $20.
I really don’t get why they are still supporting the PS2 to be honest. I know there are still a lot of people who own them, but are they really still moving a lot of new units off the shelves?? I think they would be better off just cutting off the PS2, then all those who are still holding on to it so tightly would finally be forced to move ahead and into the PS3. Of course, there is no guarantee they would choose the PS3, but chances are if they are still playing their PS3 on a regular basis they wouldn’t want to miss out on all of their Playstation exclusive franchises. It has already had a 10 year life cycle hasn’t it??
One more thing…I want to start seeing some PSP to PS3 ports. Sony has to realize that no matter how much they try to push some of us into buying a PSP to be able to play some of the games out of our favorite franchises, like God of War or Killzone, there are a lot of people like me who really want those games but know that they have no use for a portable system so won’t waste the money on them. If people want portable gaming they will buy a PSP whether they can get all the same games on the PS3 or not.
hello …
SONY & developers are still making profit with PS2 Software sale, that’s why. I don’t know if they stopped manufactruring the machine, but it’s great income for the company.
I think they’ll stop PS2 in around 2 – 3 years, yet it will be hard to have a lot of 4Gb + games on PSN, so i guess HD port would be best options, as long as they do compilations, would be great.
cheers!
i NEED a Syphone Filter game on the PS3..
little spoiler for logan’s shadow coming after the ellipsis…The game ends on a cliffhanger, so I need A SEQUEL NOW!, hopefully on the ps3, c’mon sony bend, Gabe and Teresa need their revenge and send Trinidad to her grave.
BTW, I really loved this game, the best psp game I played, yes even better than God Of War Chain Of Olympus.
