Demon’s Souls Finally Arriving for Europe

04/16/2010 Written by Dan Massi

It came, it saw, it conquered. Demon’s Souls surprised us all last year, when it finally landed in North America. The game brought a difficult challenge, an innovative online experience, and beautiful graphics, which was returned happily with great praise, plus fantastic sales not even the game’s publisher, Atlus saw coming. However, there was only one problem with Demon’s Souls release, and it was that it never came to Europe.

The original plan for Demon’s Souls, the From Software developed JRPG, is that the title would not see release in Europe. Considering the game’s successful sales, it was only a matter of time before it was to finally hit Europe, as a recent rating made by the Germans rating board confirmed the European release of Demon’s Souls. The rating also reveals the European publisher of the title, Namco Bandai. When contacted, the company revealed that they will “make a full announcement tomorrow,” which would be today, April 16th.

No date has been set for the European release yet, but stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for the latest updates.

Great News for us Europeans! Hopefully we get european servers too. Definitely a game to get if you haven’t allready imported. I have US Deluxe edition + standard edition for my other ps3 imported. It’s not one of the best RPGs on the PS3, it is THE best RPG on PS3, or on any platform for that matter. Simply awesome game mechanics + controls, great story, good graphics and so much fun co-op or black phantom invading. European box art is so cool, and you get the soundtrack + strategy guide aswell. If there is anything new, even only the european servers, I’ll be picking this one up as well. Something to wet my appetite before we see some DS2 footage (hopefully on E3). According to Kotaku the release date is set June 25.

How do you Co-Op exactly? I’ve yet to do it.

You need to be in soul form (dead) and place use a bluestone in your inventory in order to set up a sign to help other living players. When living players are in the area where you put your sign, they can summon you if you are within the required lvl range (your characters are within 10 levels of each other). If you are summoned, your task is to kill the major demon in that level, if you succeed you gain your life back. Best places to set up stones are usually near the arch stones, or right before the boss battle. It’s a cool idea, but hopefully in DS2 we get better multiplayer system, something where you can see who’s playing where and on what lvl.

On Wikipedia it also says June 25th is the release date

  6. Its about time everyone got a chance to try it out. Anyone who gets it should not be disappointed. One of the best games of this gen by far. It is hard, but not as much as some say, although that partially depends on what character you choose for your initial play through.

Actually the formula for co-op is +/- (10% of your level +10).

A level 100 player could co-op with players ranging from level 82 to level 120. The higher the level, the higher the range.

The reason why it is 82 instead of 80 is because the formula applies to both players.

Ah, Didn’t know that, thanks for the info^^ . Still i’d prefer something where one could see the amount of players and the lvl of players in each world. Maybe we get that or something better in DS2…
