Last week, we reported that Capcom was planning to reveal Marvel vs. Capcom 3, at their press-only event Captivate. Well, the anticipated sequel to Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has apparently been unveiled, and we will be seeing an announcement very soon.
PlanetXbox360 is reporting that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was announced at Captivate last week, possibly confirming rumors that the game will in fact be revealed. The website has said that the game will see the return of Marvel heroes/villians Spider-Man, Hulk, Magneto, Storm, with the team behind the game also saying that fans will be “blowing fans away” with the final amount of characters. Gameplay is said to be a mix between Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. According to sources, the title is set to be revealed this week, with an official embargo lift for screenshots, trailers, and more. It was also said that attendees at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) will have the chance of playing the title.
Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for the official reveal of Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

cheers!
@Richy2k9 – Why in the would you buy a game and never play it?
Anyways good news i’ll probaly buy this if it comes to PSN instead of a disc.
@Richy: Same here. Got the game off PSN played it for like half an hour and never touched it since lol KInda weird since I played the hell out of it when it came out on the arcades way back when.
That said, I’m mildly interested on this.
im pretty sure it’ll be a new disc based game, why would they release a new game online only on live and psn? i would love to see them use the street fighter IV engine on a mvc3 game.
Is it just me, but wad this article edited? I remember reading here that it will be a disc retail game and not a PSN download.
it’s going to to be on a disc go to other gaming web sites
marvel vs capcom 3?!?!?!?!?!?! mvc2 was the greatest game of all time, i CAN NOT WAIT!
I’ve been hoping for this since MvsC2 was released on PS2 ages ago. This is a must get for me.
@ Dirge
Yes, it was. There was an editor’s note attached to our [Source], but it was since removed, so I removed the information in the article.
