New Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Trailer Swings into Action

04/21/2010 Written by Cameron Teague

A new gameplay trailer for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands has surfaced and like past games it looks to feature plenty of swinging, wall running, and platforming all around the game’s environment.  This game is an interquel, set in the seven year gap between the events of Sands of Time and Warrior Within.  The Forgotten Sands is set for release this May the 18th, but until then enjoy the trailer below.

The rumour now is that Forgotten Sands is not a midquel set in the original series. It’s actually the game sequel to the movie, which itself is loosely based on Sands of Time. Which means Forgotten Sands is NOT the prequel to Warrior Within; it’s more like a reboot (for better or for worse) of the original trilogy.

Quite a bit disappointing but predictable, considering it was tied in from the start with the release of the movie. Hopefully the gameplay remains reasonably true to the original.

The gameplay looks 100% reliable. Here’s hoping it stays true to the series.

I’ll never buy another prince of persia at full price. bought the last one (which i really like, despite everyone else’s hatred of it) only to see about a month later it was marked down to $30.
    sucks for me i guess.

I just hope they worked on the combat and the story. I wasn’t even impressed by the combat of the original triology, let alone the POP from 2008. I only beat Warrior Within and the one from 2008, but I never finished the Sands of time.

  5. Blah. I wanted a sequel to POP 2008, not this crap.

cant wait to play the coming game, i loved the trilogy, but the one in 2008 was a bit annoying to play. hope this one will be good…
