A new title featuring Assassin’s Creed II hero Ezio was rumored for quite some time – but it has finally been confirmed. Ubisoft today has revealed information we all knew was coming, and has announced Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, a full-fledged PS3 title.
Yesterday, placeholder art was leaked of a new Assassin’s Creed title – Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. It was undecided whether the image was in fact real or not, until an Ubisoft representative confirmed the existence of the title, saying: “Ubisoft confirms the authenticity of this image and will provide more information next week.” Nothing more was said, but the placeholder art does reveal some details about the game.
“Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome,” it goes on to say.
“And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style. A never-before-seen online multiplayer experience.”

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is rumored to hit this year, after a LinkedIn resume revealed a 2010 release for an unknown Assassin’s Creed title.
Ubisoft are the biggest hypicrites going, they go on about how they want to do something new and how they don’t want to do something just because everyone else does and then they go and add on a multiplayer because most games have a multiplayer,
Good work ubisoft! I’m open to suggestion on this but till then I just don’t see how a multiplayer would work for a game like Assassin’s creed, either it’ll work like Uncharted or it’ll bomb like Bioshock.
Hm…perhaps its a whole different game. I’d wait to see what the game is actually about, who knows you might like it.
A multiplayer sneaking around game???????????
Absolutely – MP sneaking about AND hiding! A free roaming city location where teams of assassins kill each other.
There could be looting games, hunting one person down, races to be first to assassinate high profile/guarded targets, co-op modes (distracting guards to allow you team mate to gain access to secret locations), even races to the top of high points as a kind of domination mode.
They could have a lot of fun with this and it could work really well…
@Greay: Well we never know they might show some gameplay and I might actually find myself liking the game.
@Timewarp
Don’t be stupid. It’s obvious this won’t be crafted as the usual competitive multiplayer we see. Expect something similar to Red Dead Redemption, that you get the whole game world to roam around in with your friends online. I expect it will be more co-op focused, from the sub-title Brotherhood.
So in short, it’ll be an MMO.
@Delta_Canuckian
My original thought was a massive online world and you could have your own Villa (or perhaps a flat/appartment!) that you would have as a base as in the AC2. But then I wondered how it would work if you had 100,000 Ezios running around! I realised that this would end up being just like PSN HOME except we will all be standing around in some Roman Bath in our togas asking each other where you come from!
mmo… i dont think so..possibly though… this sounds fun…although meteal gear solid was somewhat of a sneaking around multiplayer game… may be putting this one on my list…requiescat in pace
Fall of 2010?? That’s really quick, no?
l always felt that Assassin’s Creed needed a co-op multiplayer something that MGO needed. Oh well at least they got it right with Peace Walker
Can we just make this clear, I’m not annoyed that their doing a multiplayer, I’m more annoyed that ubisoft went on about how they want to bring something new to gaming hence why AC was in the time pharses it was in and then they just suddenly go and say “Hey let’s stick a multiplayer in there because that’s what everyone else is doing!”
I’m ok with mulitplayer but when they go and pretend their better then everyone else while still doing the same, THAT is what annoys me. Also did you even read my last comment? No offence but if you did you’d know I actually commented that I’m still going to give the game a chance ounce I see the gameplay
Fall of 2010 is a quick time to release a game as well though maybe it’s the same setting. I hope not though still they’ve already done quite a lot from the 2nd game which can be transferred over.
I wish I could see one article about this game that didn’t have the word “multiplayer” in it. What the heck is the single player like? Is this AC2:Ep1 or is this some hacked on crap like the DLC with 90% of the new content being the multiplayer mode?
I love AC2 and I hope there is some real meat here on the single player side…
No it’s Assassin’s creed 3: Brotherhood. I would have liked to see the third game being set in 18th century fedual japan.
