Sony and Insomniac Games have released many successful and ambitious games which have gone on to become cult successes, with the partnership producing games such as Spyro and Ratchet and Clank and more recently Resistance series which made its début as a launch title on the PlayStation 3. Now, with Insomniac’s intent to produce a multi-platform game Sony is looking to keep the partnership strong.

Sony’s told VG247 earlier that they will “continue to build it’s strong partnership with Insomniac Games”, He also stated that “They are looking forward to unveiling the next Insomniac PS3 exclusive properties”

“Sony Computer Entertainment and Insomniac Games will continue to build upon a strong, successful 14-year partnership that has led to more than 35 million games sold and enjoyed by fans around the world. We look forward to unveiling Insomniac’s next PS3 exclusive properties in the near future.”

We look forward to see what Insomniac can produce for the future.

    The only downside to multi-platform games is that the PS3 is limited to the size of a DVD (actually less due to MS restrictions) for all games. I don’t see quality going up in this case.

    I don’t think any Insomniac titles will suffer, but imagine if games like Uncharted 2 went multiplat what they would have to sacrifice.

  2. little picky aren’t you?

    just read the the post 2 articles down.. nm..

  5. This is an instance where having seen what Insomniac can do for the PS3, I’ll almost definitely pass on whatever their multi-plat title is and go for the exclusive, since I’m sure they can bang out another fantastic exclusive.

    @nemo – who cares?

    My feelings for insomniac is up in the air right now…. i do not like EA and they are exactly like Activision. i just have a feeling ps3 owners wont get the best out of insomnaic, or even insomnaic multiplatform games wont be up to ps3 standards. from EA track record from this generation of yearly iterations of games going downhill and porting crap to the ps3, i dont know… wait and see game. i just hope ps3 owners gets the best out of ev

    Hopefully Insomniac plans using the money from the Multi-Platform IPs to fuel their PS3 exclusives.

    Compared to how much they put into their PS3 games, making a game on a DVD would free up a lot of their time.

    Which can be put towards their PS3 games.
    xD

    Least that’s what I hope for.
    Multi-Platforming just for quick cash to pay for the good games, eh?

    @WestSiide
    you do know they are not a 1st part company of Sony right?

    settle down people, yes the quality of their multi-platform games probably won’t be up to par with some of their PS3 exclusive titles but who cares?? They’re multi-platform! As long as they keep making amazing PS3 exclusives then I will welcome any multi-platform games Insomniac can create.

    hello …

    others are doing it (Ubisoft with multiplats games + MS Exclusive games) so if insomniac wants to go that road we can’t blame the company.

    i just hope their multiplats would be great & the exclusive on any platform would be up to the standards of each & every one, just don’t become too greedy & don’t forget that you have fans down here & you need 1 mistake to lose them all.

    cheers!

  12. @Rynxie – Maybe that’s why EA and Insomniac are perfect for each other? Insomniac has put out quality titles on a yearly basis for a long time.

    Insomniac will be making ‘Generic Shooter ’11′ lolz

    Insomniac Games still has 2 PS3 exclusive in the making plus the new studio is creating their new IP multiplatform. They want to continue Sony games Resistance and Ratchet & Clank which was supposedly already done i hope they keep making that game is great. Plus they are doing just one game with EA according to Ted Price the owner of Insomniac Games. I guess they are trying to see what happen. This is not really bad news for PS3 owners or Sony or good.
