The latest game in the Call Of Duty series, Black Ops sequel to the biggest selling game in the Activision franchise was announced not so long ago, post Infinity Ward scenario. Today speaking to MCV, Treyarch community manager Josh Olin has strong words for the Call Of Duty faithful.

The community manager has said that their new entry in the high grossing franchise will “exceed expectations”.

“Every Call of Duty game has ratcheted the bar up for the next one, and we’re just ratcheting up the bar one step further. I think Black Ops is going to exceed expectations. This game is going to be huge.”

”We’re going to let Black Ops speak for itself.”

“We’re always trying to make the best game we can possibly make, and with Black Ops it really is the best work we’ve ever done.”

He goes on to say that there is fierce competition from the likes of Medal Of Honor, and Crysis 2 from EA Games, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and many more, he goes on to say.

“We’re always trying to make the best game we can possibly make, and with Black Ops it really is the best work we’ve ever done.”

I don’t know what franchise they’re following but MW2 didn’t “ratchet” any bar up for me…They need to beef up the single player a lot this time around if they want my $$$. They have already proven that they can make a great multiplayer game, but they haven’t proven they can make a long-lasting single player campaign that is worth going back to.

IMO false, only CoD4 did, and then everything has fallen short of that.

Won’t be too hard to exceed my expectations…

MW2 was supposed to be epic as well.

umm if each one ratcheted everything up a nothc.. then are they just forgetting cod3?? that game was horrible… WAW only steeped up cod4 with zombies (which was brilliant, i mean seriously a single player mode that could potentially never end, its whats every game needs for those people lke me who only gets access to broadband for half a week) and mw2 had double wielding… not that much of a step forward, considering they took the story backwards and made it way too short!!!

im only getting this if they keep the local multiplayer, and have some form of zombie mode. otherwise i dont care about cod anymore (and no im not just one of these compainers about cod, i just dont see the point in having 4 of the same game with slightly different graphics and different maps)

    I could careless…im waiting for KZ3

Well now we expect it to exceed expectations. How are they going to get around that little paradox?

I played only COD, COD3, COD4, World at War, and MW2 and thought only COD4 exceeded expectations in my opinion. I have yet to beat COD have it on my PS3. World at War was good really liked the zombie mode was a nice touch to the game. COD3 is probably my least favorite game in the series, played it on PS2 and thought it was as good as COD2. MW2 wasn’t that good in single player campaign the online modes are great but IW have yet to make a campaign mode that lasts longer than 8 hours. As for Black Ops I’ll believe it when I play the game later this year near my birthday(its November 9th) if it will be beyond expectations. I trust Treyarch but they have alot to live up to with Black Ops in terms of a single player campaign mode like making it longer than what was World at War.

IS THIS ONE GONNA HAVE ZOMBIES TOO? I SURE HOPE SO

  9. morton816 says:

WORLD AT WAR IS THE BEST COD EVER MW2 REALLY SUCKS . I LIKE TO PLAY ONLINE HARDCORE BUT WITH MW2 U HAVE 2 LEVEL UP BEFORE U CAN PLAY HARDCORE

i thought cod4 was brilliant. but i dont understand the negativity to mw2. i thought it was an incredible single player experience. so good that i actually played the single player 3 times and hardly went online with it. the length of the game didnt bother me. didnt think it was too short, or too long. actually when a game is too long i tend to lose interest and move on (gta4) so having too much single player content can sometimes interfere with enjoying the game to the point that it feels like a chore to play through. i hear to much “mw2 suuukz” but it would be interesting to further elaborate on your reasoning or perceptions as to why it didnt live up to your specific expectations.
