    Finally we get “another” release date lol, I hope this is one sticks. Even though I dont have a 3D TV I’m glad to hear that GT5 along other PS titles are 3D NATIVE, which blows the competition out of the water

  5. The “competition?” If you mean competition in 3D, then Nintendo has figured a way to do 3D without having to use those stupid ass glasses that give headaches after 30 minutes of playing.

    Take your competition, and shove it up your ass. Sony simply needs a reason to push those 3D TV’s into people’s homes. It WILL fail.

    isnt the initial release date always for japan only?

  7. Dirge says:

    @Nosferatu King: isn’t the 3D without glasses thing that Nintendo is gonna do only for their 3DS?

  8. It is. Did you also notice that they DID NOT show any video footage of gameplay? Reporters that tried it hands on are saying: “It works when it works.” Meaning that you only works when you found the sweet spot. As soon as you move or title the 3DS in anyway it got blurry and hurt the eyes.

    You’re gonna need REAL glasses after playing with that thing!

  9. tazinlwfl says:

    @Nosferatu King – Stereoscopic 3D with glasses is the only decent way to watch HD 3D… It’s also relatively inexpensive… I can grab a 3D DLP Projector for about $600… Solid brightness and color…

    If you move your head more than a few inches left or right with the 3DS, the 3D effect is gone. But you can walk around the entire movie theater and still see the 3D… 15-45 degree viewing angles won’t cut it… 75-90+ with glasses are FINE… they’re not as bad as people think… everyone is used to the crappy movie theater glasses… these are high-quality, non-recyclable glasses with glass/LCD lenses… they have a weight to them that make them comfortable and solid… The quality of the TVs are top notch… they’re the best LED/LCD TVs out there with even BETTER tech in them…. I doubt this will fail

    @nosferatu

    “waaaah waaaaah, Sony’s 3D push will fail because it has glasses and I can’t afford their TV’s, waaaaah”

    IGN welcomes you.

    Seriously dude you’re coming across as those 14yr olds you “loathe” so much. You better hope tazinlwfl isn’t younger than you, his comment compared to yours is making YOU look really pathetic right now

  11. tazinlwfl says:

    @Xael — Thanks… I think…

  12. DD34 says:

    @tazinlwfl: I totally agree with you! I don’t care about wearing any glasses, but I haven’t tried such a 3DTV yet…

    I’m used to the theater glasses which s***k *ss, but I believe people when they’re saying that the glasses of Samsung or Sony are totally different. The only problem is that I don’t know if it would be comfortable to wear normal glasses together with 3D glasses… At the movie theater they claim it fits well, but my experiences prove otherwise…

    Nevertheless, I believe there will be good 3DTVs without glasses in the future. What you said about the angle is true, but if you look into the past, you’ll see that every new type of TV had problems with the viewing angle… In the beginning of LCD TVs, you had to sit in front of the TV, now most of them have a viewing angle of about 178° (so 89° left & right).

    I don’t think it’ll take too long until there are good quality 3DTVs without glasses and without major problems, especially because they’re researching many techniques nowadays… I’ll wait until 3DTVs are more mature and the major problems are gone before I’ll buy one. Probably there’ll be some good stuff already in 2011 and it’ll be affordable in 2012, if it’s not the world’s end then… :p
