During Konami’s press conference, a lot has already been revealed. Now, the next game from the famed mega developers and publishers has been announced. It’s entitled: Never Dead.
At Konami’s E3 Press Conference, Silent Hill, the publisher’s ultra-scary, ultra-creepy horror franchise has been announced to be making a comeback on current gen consoles. Silent Hill: Homecoming was the last PS3 instalment in the Silent Hill survival horror series, developed by Foundation 9 Entertainment and Double Helix Games. Now, at E3, the next game has been officially announced.
At Konami’s E3 press conference, a trailer unveiled production on Saw 2: Flesh and Blood. One of the long awaited sequels is finally hitting shelves soon, with a strong line-up of cult characters Marvel Vs Capcom 3 aims to be the next sugar daddy in the fighting genre. Today some colourful MvC3 screenshots has been released to the masses.
One game absence that was definitely noticed during Sony’s E3 press conference yesterday was The Last Guardian. The latest title from legendary game creator Fumito Ueda was entirely missing, so far, from this year’s E3. To address the noticeable concern among the Sony masses, two representatives from the SCEA spoke today, and explained why Sony decided to withhold any new information or media.
Talking to 1UP was SCEA’s Scott Rohde. Within the comment, Rohde cited Sony’s philosophy of withholding media and information until they and the development studio feel comfortable with the progress of the game.
“The best way I can answer that is something that Sony does — and we’re very proud of this — is that we’re going to ship a game when we feel it’s ready.
“When it’s fully baked and when it’s ready. And with everything else that we’re showing at this show, we announced a million different things at this show, we just didn’t feel that the timing was right to show that product at this show.
“We’re going to show it when it’s ready, and when we think that it’s worthy to show based on everything else that developer has done.”
Don’t fret! That doesn’t mean there won’t be any new information coming out this year. There is still a strong possibility something new will come up at this year’s Tokyo Game Show or gamescom, according to SCEA’s Ron Eagle:
“And there’s more dates on the calendar than just E3. Read into that what you will. There’s nothing official that we can tell you other than The Last Guardian continues in production and we can’t wait to show you what Ueda-San has been up to. The game looks fantastic.”
We here at PlayStation LifeStyle are sadden about the lack of The Last Guardian at E3. However, given Sony’s response and reasoning to the ‘crisis’, it is perfectly understandable and we would rather Fumito Ueda and his team take all the time in the world, so that they truly create a spectacular title.

At Sony’s massive E3 conference, which featured shocking announcements such as Portal 2 and Twisted Metal, the PlayStation Move was placed at the forefront of the show, with numerous games announced for the motion based peripheral. One surprise game that was announced to be given Move support was David Cage’s masterpiece, Heavy Rain. Existing copies of the game will given full motion control via a patch, but SCEE has announced that they will also release a special ‘Heavy Rain: Move Edition’.
One of Sony’s most anticipated titles of the year, LittleBigPlanet 2, has just gotten a release date. Shown off at the Sony E3 press conference yesterday, the live demo absolutey wowed the crowd. The release date, which is actually closer than most guessed it would be, is so close, that watching any more videos of the game may result in your head exploding with excitement.
However, even with consistent doubt among the consumer base that 3D will not take off, Sony executives, Jack Tretton included, are thinking the complete opposite, and are quite optimistic regarding the future success of 3D.
