Metro 2034 Might Release On the PS3

07/03/2010 Written by Paulmichael Contreras

Ever hear of the Metro series of games? If you’re strictly a PlayStation fan, then the answer is likely a no. The series has so far only made appearances on the PC and Xbox 360 formats. But this sequel may make its way over to the PlayStation 3…when it finally releases.

THQ has recently let loose some information regarding this game. VP of core games Danny Bilson stated that Metro 2034 will likely not be released for “a couple of years.” Dmitry Glukhovsky, the author of the book which Metro 2033 is based on, was consulted during the development of the game. When the question of porting the game to the PS3 came about, according to Glukhovsky it was decided that simply working on a sequel would be easier than the six-month porting process. So while this is far from a solid confirmation, it does give a higher chance of a PS3 version of Metro 2034…in a few years.

  1. eh wasn’t this originally going to be a PS3 exclusive. I’m getting confused now.

They are probably hedging their bets at the publishers board room. You can not blame them looking at PS3 since sales have rebounded wildly since the price drop last year. It would be financial suicide to stay exclusive at least in the NA region, with Sony catching up and may surpass Microsoft sales someday.

  3. I played Metro 2034, i have to be honest its a bloody good game. Not suprise if will release to PS3.

I’ve played Metro 2033 and its great but tells no backstory just puts you inside of the action. I do hope Metro 2034 does come to PS3 as it would been better sales for THQ who publishes the game and the developer.

Reviews were not positive. I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to release it on PS3.

When I saw this game was gonna be an exclusive on the Xbox I wasn’t concerned at all because I just wasn’t interested in another Fallout tyle game. Just seemed like it didn’t bring anything new to the table.
