Since the introduction of trophies back in 2008, many players have set out to obtain highly prestigious Platinum Trophies. With some games easier to ‘Platinum’ than others and some seemingly impossible – due to reasons such as being time consuming or requiring an abundance of skill – we have compiled a list of what we believe are the top 5 most difficult Platinum Trophies to snag. Warning: contains an unnatural amount difficulty and frustration.

#5 - Street Fighter IV
At number 5 is Street Fighter IV. Created by legendary and famed developers Capcom, SFIV brings the legendary fighting series back to its roots by taking the beloved fighting moves and techniques of the original Street Fighter II. It earns our # 5 spot thanks to the “No Challenge Too Hard” and “Playing to Win” trophies. Once you hadouken through the all the combos for all the characters then the rest should be a piece of cake… should be.
#4 - Grand Theft Auto IV
At number 4 – and suitably so – is the fourth installment of the popular Rockstar franchise, GTA IV. While most offline trophies are easily attained, “Endangered Species” is one to remember, finding all 200 pigeons without help from good ol’ Youtube.com would cost any poor soul over 100 hours. But if that wasn’t difficult enough, the notorious “Auf Wiedersen Petrovic” trophy will no doubt cause you a headache or two.
#3 - Killzone 2
At number 3 is the preeminent Killzone 2 developed by the one and only Guerrilla Games. This Sci-Fi FPS is undoubtedly a shooter created for pros. Trophies such as “Heroic Survivor” – where you have to beat the game on elite mode – and “Valor Grand Cross” – where you have to be in the top 1% of the Killzone 2 community that week – are no walk in the park, and will have you tearing your hair out and possibly causing you to go out and buy a couple of new DualShock controllers. Thanks to many of smashed controllers, it earns our #3 position.
#2 - Demon's Souls
At number 2 is the renowned dungeon crawling RPG from Atlus, Demon’s Souls. Building a reputation for being one of the hardest games around, Demon’s Souls will frustrate even the most hardcore of gamers. The “Solider” trophy clearly backs up this statement, being one of the trophies giving most players trouble, and you could say the same for nearly all the other trophies in the game!
#1 - WipEout HD
Last but not least, the #1 spot goes to Wipeout HD. Rarely are there PSN games offering platinum trophies but this one is quite worthy of one and with that, is not at all easy to procure. This platinum will require immense patience and ingenuity. The “Zone Zeus” and “Arcade Perfect” trophies might just be enough to send you to an insane asylum and is precisely why it earned PlayStation’s LifeStyle top spot on the top 5 most difficult platinum trophies to obtain.

MAG is also hard. Also I wish Metal Gear Solid 4 was the hardest platinum ever.
Have Killzone and Demons Souls. I would say that SFIV is harder and should be farther up the list imo.
Also SOCOM, I almost have, should be on the list for the sheer fact it takes so long to get it.

To be fair, they patched mag so now its cake =P and MGS 4 doesnt have actual trophies
street fighter IV is not that hard, they made Super Street Fighter IV far harder, i know this is spliting hairs but it is FAR longer, and FAR more difficult
demon souls is not that hard, infact it is very easy to plat =\
between getting support from other people
being able to trade people for weapons (its even in the US guide) so you can trade for the pure bladestone and or a pure bladestone weapon… you can do this for every single weapon in the game if you find the right person (many trophy sites have trading) and you can make a back up then reload it if you really want the plat and get the all miracles and ALL the magic powers but 2.. requiring 1.2 cycles =P though the game is difficult ninja gaiden sigma 2 the last 2 missions are far harder than anything in demon souls and will take you far longer than to PLAT demon souls =\
I think this list is a joke to not include a few other games, a lot of these games are more main stream or popular or easily known for reputation… where as the hardest to plat game is tom clanys end game? i think thats the one but it had a glitch making the plat impossible to obtain making it in theory the hardest plat trophy =P go on ps3trophycard.com Zero people have it

Fight Night round 4 features a trophy for getting number 1 in the world… and some people were locking people out of it and EA never stoped in to resolve this issue

finally in my opinion the hardest plat trophy that doesnt have something about douche bags is lost planet 2…
Lost planet 2 requires every title, and while people complain about 1 many are over looked =\
500 matchs, 300 campaign chapters both required
getting #1 on a leaderboard
beat the game in split screen
beat the game with people online
get 8x people online to do a taunt at the same time
get 100,000+ damage with every weapon/VS/nade/VS weapon…
plasma nades took me 5 hours alone of pure boosting to get it =\
some VS’s only spawn on 1 MP map, under 2 layouts neither of which appear in ranked
win a faction match as every faction for 3 different weeks… this takes a minimal of 15 weeks and you have no control =P
So yeah… Some list -rolls eyes-
and at crawler there is an auto plat glitch for socom… so i dont see how you can count it if you can cheat it =P
Id agree with most of them but id take killzone out and put socom in.Also if pain gad a platnuim trophy that would be top of the list :p.im actually nearly after getting my 5tH platnuim.im working on battlefield bad company 2.i need 3 trophies but im having trouble with demolition man !.once i have that done im going to finish off assassins creed which iv 88percent in and move onto yakuza 3 which should take sum time but its fun
GTA4′s Platinum has got to be easier than claiming Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2′s Platinum. I have yet seen anybody getting a platinum for that game.
i got Platinum Trophy of Demon’s Souls game and it was not hard at all .. the only thing you have to get it is the love you have to love the game to do any thing
my god…somebody actually has the demon’s souls platinum! I don’t even have one yet…but then again I don’t really play for the trophies. But impressive nonetheless. I did try to get the Plat for heavy rain…but I didn’t get one of the endings..and ij ust couldn’t play it anymore. i’ll have to look for a list for the easiest ones so I can at least get a SINGLE one haha.
Seriously? What about Warhawk… I think the time required for that easily puts it on that list.

Try out Borderlands that is the 1st one I have had.
this should be 6 games not 5. The 6th game would be Mirror’s Edge, now that game was hard. ME demanded absolute perfection of you, if you messed up it’s back to the starting line
Warhawk and SOCOM are also hard platinums to get.
how about the import game Gundam Senki (30 hours of gameplay is a bronze)

Those games (except for SF4 adn WipEout which you got right) got NOTHING, I mean NOTHING this side of difficult next to :
NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA 2 ( Definitely number 1, no question about it)
MLB The Show 09 (and most likely also MLB10) Just INSANE trophies
Warhawk (no FPS or any other MP shooter game is harder than that)

A friend of mine has got a NGΣ2 platinum trophy, and it sure as hell was hard (he said so)…
while demon’s souls may not be that hard(once you get the hang of it) the trophy can be classified just because it takes so long to get. Not that I have it i’m just assuming by looking at them.
Warhawk and M.A.G
Don’t think I’ve got a single M.A.G trophy if I remember correctly, and Warhawk, although the individual trophies are do-able, the platinum is silly :O
I only have 2 Platinum Trophies 1 for BuRNouT Paradise 100% of 98 trophies AND DeMoN Souls with some help from some Great guys I teamed up with we traded items and gear to all the weapons and Rings Yes DeMoN Souls is HaRD BUT A VERY GOOD GAME
I agree with you Demons Souls is a really great game i played nonstop till i got platinum
Dont think mirrors edge should be onthe list because if your good enough at it ul platnuim it.i havnt got the platnuim but my friend has got it on 3different accounts he did it so quickly :L
I got Killzone 2s platnum within 3 weeks of the game released. Its not as hard as people think. You just need to play around 4 hours of online a day to get into the top 1% for that week and the Radec boss fight on elite is all about knowing were he goes and were to hide yourself.
Demons Souls is another easy one. I got the Platnum after 80 hours. The only trophey to give trouble is the weapon one and thats because you have to farm the parts but if you make the world pure black all enemies drop the rare items you need a lot more so you gather them faster.
GTA4s trophies are not hard. They just take a lot of time to get and if trophies released with the game instead of being patched in later I would only have the highest multiplayer trophey left to get.
Wipeouts trophies are really hard. You have to perfect lap each race and the zone trophies are near impossible. I havn’t played SF4 yet so I can’t comment.
Also games like Warhawk, socom and Mags trophies are not hard. They just take a lot of time to get. The same can be said for white knight chronicles, its supposed to take 500-1000 hours to platnum. The trophies ain’t difficult but most people won’t put that many hours into the 1 game.
Ninga Gaiden Sigma 2 is definitley one of the hardest to get but its not impossible as I know 3 people who has it
the Demon’s Souls Soldier Trophy just takes time really………its that damn PURE bladestone that i can NOT freaking get no matter how many times i do the runthrough on that black phantom……its the only one i need to platinum….well also the cloudstone one but thatll be easy enough
I have the Demon’s Souls platinum trophy…I think the toughest platinum trophies to get are White Knight Chronicles (you need to play the game at least 600 hours to get it) and also Fight Night Round 4 (you have to get all of the online title belts, I dont think anyone has the plat so far)

Cheating is irrelevant. If you do it legit, it takes a long ass time. Ive had it since launch and have been getting the trophies slowly and finally almost there.
I forgot about Warhawk and yes that takes forever too.
People who say that time consuming trophies shouldnt be counted are foolish. Its hard enough to play a game that long. I get the whole loving the game, but when you need hundreds of hours, that takes a lot of time and persistence to say the least.
I have only a single platinum and it was really easy to get . hasbro family game night . just play either online or locally with a friend or 2 and you’ll get it in no time . it took me 3 weeks of casual play . a few trophies are more luck than skill but a few can be gotten with some creative teamwork , like the battleship sink all opponents ships without a miss trophy – each of you puts your ships in 2 straight lines and you play salvo .

I have the KZ2 and Demon’s Souls platinums. KZ2 is currently the most difficult game that I’ve platinumed, taking me about 16 months of off-and-on playing before finally completing everything. Elite is just brutal, and the online trophies are a serious grind (easy if you’re boosting, but I did most of them legit). I’m really proud of this platinum.
Demon’s Souls platinum isn’t necessarily hard, but you have to have a thorough understanding of the game to obtain it. Knowing exactly what it takes to get through each level and the right strategies to take down the end level bosses (many of whom can kill you in one hit) takes time and patience… lots… of… patience. Other than that, most of the other trophies are related to farming, so you have to know how to get all the items/spells/miracles/rings in the game, and just check them off the list. Pure Bladestone, though… what a bitch. I finally just traded with someone online who had the Pure Bladestone weapon, giving me the platinum instantly. If not for that, I would still be farming for it, probably. I must have gained 200 levels and spent 30 hours just farming the dark skeleton for it. GAH!!
Here are some games worthy of attention for this list:
-Tom Clancy’s End War, any old EA Sports games, and LOTR: Conquest. The online servers are down and thus it is impossible to platinum these games from now on!
-White Knight Chronicles requires about 1500 hours of playing to get a platinum. No joke. And much of that is doing the saaaame quests a thousand times to rank up. I gave up. The game just wasn’t good enough to keep me going for it.
-Resistance 2 with its 10,000 online kill trophy is just ridiculous. Spending about a month just playing online for the sake of one gold trophy… come on. And how many people are still playing?
-Guitar Hero Smash Hits DEFINITELY belongs on this list. You have to beat every instrument career on expert to get this platinum… that means “Through the Fire and Flames” and “Raining Blood” for guitar AND drums. Are you KIDDING me!?! Not to mention most of the online trophies are damn near impossible to get because a) GH’s online truly sucks and b) not a lot of people play online (or even play this game for that matter), in part because the online sucks.
That’s just my two cents.
Lol, a lot of flack on this article PSLS. Bioshock should really be up there instead of KZ2 I think. The hardest part would be the ending an even then once you now how to beat it it’s not too terrible. Bioshock is just plain agonizing though.
agreed on Wipeout HD! Been playing wipeout games since the original, and considered myself quite skilled until playing this iteration – its balls out hard as hell!

Demons Souls platinum is fairly easy , i got it last night and my play time was only 36 hours
