DJ Hero 2′s Hip-Hoppin’ Artist List Turns the Tables

The original DJ Hero was a successful endeavor for the rhythm video game genre, and as a result a sequel has been announced. DJ Hero 2 was announced last month as a content-filled sequel with beefier modes and a large handful of popular artists. Now that the official artist list has just been announced, it’s safe to say that they weren’t kidding when they said the list would be huge.

The full artist list for FreeStyleGames’ upcoming rhythm title DJ Hero 2 has seen it’s debut. The list features a wide-range of hip-hop and rap artists to satisfy just about every hip-hop fan out there.

That is indeed a great lineup but on a “DJ” game, shouldn’t we see “DJ”s and not Lady Gaga, Pussycat Dolls, 50 Cent, etc.? For heaven’s sake, why put that garbage along with the masters of spin like Tiesto, Kaskade, and MSTRKRFT? Those are real DJs, those are real spinners. 2 Pac is a legend but should not be in a game called DJ Hero..
From Will.I.Am to Stevie Wonder to Puff Daddy to Daft Punk? There is a clear line between variety and mindlessly stuffing popular artists into a music game. Have a variety of EDM and Hip-Hop, not gangster rap, pop rap, hip-pop, and al that other garbage.
I desperately want to play a game like this, but what a waste of money it would be when less than half the track is relevant to the genre? Make it cheap, then release genre-specific DLC.

yeah, I gotta say that while 2pac is undoubtedly the best rapper of all time – why is he in “DJ Hero?” Shouldn’t that be in the new rap-along game (forget the name, probably Bust-a-Rhyme Hero or something) thats coming out?

A great part of DJ’s mix popular songs live, and this is why they are popular, the Real DJ Heroes like Tiesto and Deadmau5 are known for their original material. So if both of these are true why limit the game to only the latter type of DJ? I dont see how its a problem to have great music from Tiesto etc, alongside with amazing mixes that feature Tupac and other popular artists. Damn variety. And specifially the comment right above mine, hes not in a rap game cause his part in this game isnt about the rapping, his song will be in a mix, that the gamer plays in >DJ Hero 2<
