For all the fishing fanatics out there that have felt neglected by the PS3 and its lack of a any fishing games worth reeling in, fret no more. Activision is tossing out a baited line that is sure to lure in even the pickiest anglers.
Activision has announced that it will be releasing a fishing game with Rapala, the world’s leading fishing brand, titled Rapala Pro Bass Fishing. The game, which will release with a wireless Rapala Rod & Reel controllers, will bring an authentic fishing experience to the PS3. Featuring full motion controls, players will be able to cast, reel, jig, set the hook and more as if they had an actual fishing rod in their hands.
Here’s what Tom Mackin, a spokesman for Rapala, had to say about the upcoming game:
“We’ve brought in our Rapala-sponsored professionals to make sure Rapala Pro Bass Fishing is the most realistic tournament fishing experience to date. Activision is really outdoing themselves – all of us couldn’t be more pleased with the game.”
Look for Rapala Pro Bass Fishing this fall on both PS3 and PSP.
This is one of those boring genres of gaming that makes me think “damn, now why wouldn’t I just go buy a pole and do some real fishing?”. I mean, if I’m gonna sit around waiting all day for something to bite my line, I might as well get dinner out of it by the end, right?
I am with you on that BWM. I have never quite understood fishing games. To be honest though I have never really been that big on fishing either. I did it with my dad when I was younger, and it was the most boring thing ever. We just sat there, and sat there, and sat there some more. Couldn’t even talk really because we might have “scared the fish”.
I feel compelled to mention that even though I hate fishing, I love eating fish. I salute the fishermen out there.
Fishing is much better when you have beer. Then it becomes more or less about chilling in the sun with some cold beverages. Never worried about talking too much, shifting around in the boat conducts noise to through the water much more. Actually catching a fish becomes the bonus in the whole scenario. Either way though, I see no point in simulating this activity.
lol
but seriously, i won’t get this
It’s Activision this will be another useless game genre that they will try to milk. Look they have a wireless fishing controller the game will no doubt be over priced like Tony Hawk was with the virtual skate board controller.
I can already see the fishing rod controller. They could get Roland Martin to talk it up at the next E3.
