Motorstorm: Apocalypse is the next entry in the PlayStation 3 staple racing series of games. Besides being in an entirely new setting, it will also take advantage of an entirely new type of technology: stereoscopic 3D, but not the PS Move.

In a recent EU PS.Blog livechat, Paul Rustchynsky from developer Evolution Studios elaborated on 3D in the upcoming title:
“We’ve always had 3D in mind for MotorStorm Apocalypse ever since we first implemented 3D into MotorStorm Pacific Rift. Where we realised just how impressive and immersive an effective it was. It really does give you a much greater impression of depth, which in a racing game is really useful to judge speed and cornering.”
Matt Southern later commented on the possibility of Move integration, stating that the team weighed the pros and cons of both 3D and Move, and ultimately decided that 3D would “be a bigger win” for them. SIXAXIS controls will still be supported for more “haptic” integration (likely swiping the controller to either side to shunt your opponent, much like in Motorstorm: Pacific Rift).
Motorstorm: Apocalypse is currently slated for a Q1 2011 release date.
This is not Mario Kart with an Air Wheel Adapter for the motion controller. LogiTech makes great wired wheels and pedals. Move just does not fit.
I don’t ever need a racing game that uses Move…Move should be used in games where it can add more realism to the experience or create new experiences. With racing games, you really can’t get any more real from a controller standpoint than a really good steering wheel and pedal set.
hello …
i agree with you all, MOVE isn’t for racing games … I want the 3D option but as long as i can deactivate it when i wish & play with some cool wheels out there.
OMG too many games for end of 2K11 …. i must win the loto.
cheers!
Dualshock is the only way to play racers!! Motorstorm had dualshock motion control and tht sucked bad…. Just keep to standard dually i say! even on my kids wii we use a gamecube controller LOL all this motion control is ok for 5 minutes but u dont get a full feeling of control and that sucks too…!
I sure hope this game supports steering wheels. The last Motorstorm had to be about the only racing game of this generation that didn’t. Or the second half of the last generation for that matter. Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. The DS3 controller worked great – better than in any other game I’ve ever played – but still, a steering wheel adds a whole extra level of “realism”. Just because they’ve got motorcycles is no reason to stop people from using a wheel when driving any of the other 90% of the vehicles.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SUPPORT LOGITECH STEERING WHEELS!!!!!! ONLY WAY TO PLAY RACING GAMES!!!!!
