If you’ve got a PlayStation 3, be sure to fire it up and jump to the network update icon, because firmware 3.41 is now available for download! This latest firmware upgrade includes some minor tweaks to the PlayStation Store to make finding content that peaks your interests easier than ever.
So far, the only thing discovered is the already announced “You May Like” section in the PlayStation Store, which suggests titles and media that the user may show interest in based on past purchases and downloads. This feature is now enabled, but not currently accessible, and has been confirmed to be hitting PS3′s by the end of July (we suspect it will go live along with this week’s PlayStation Store update). However, as is the case with most PS3 firmware updates, there may be more to it than meets the eye.
Be sure to stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle, as we’ll be sure to let you all know the second we discover any hidden gems in this latest update.
don’t know if I’ll like the ‘you may like’ part of this update. may just leave it off if its an option.
i got da new update an i didnt get dis part of da update
is dat da only thing wit dis new update????
Lame….why don’t they work on SOMETHING asked for on their blog.share? I mean, at least one of the very SIMPLE stuff that is asked for, I’m more than sure they could find something there in the blog.share to add to the PS3 that would be very welcome by the users. Lame, lame , lazy, lazy, and I just don’t get it. If you create this blog.share, then use it, if not it’s not doing anything than making you look BAD and making costumers ANGRY.
any minute now, a article is going to pop up claiming this update brick their PS3
Hater, shut up… That crap has gone way past being old.
@Blkant
why? We seen articles from various blogs claiming that PS3 firmwares, Games, and even Movies have killed PS3. I just find those articles funny because of people general lack of knowledge when it comes to tech hardware.
hasnt anyone noticed trophies auto-sync? compare trophies with a few friends .. its instant. at boot up all trophies are being uploaded and users appear as a lvl 1 untill there profiles fully load.
Ohh, my bad hater, I thought you were actually siding with them. I thought you were one of the ones that believed the conspiracy
My bad
not sure if this is new but accessories in system menu has motion control calibration.
my bad, that was in the 3.40 update. all i can hope for i stable XMB and gaming
whine, whine, whine, I think Sony should watch blogs and comment sections and as soon as someone complains about not getting anything good they should just block their PSN Account from getting the update. Just because you don’t think the new feature is all that necessary doesn’t mean someone won’t find it useful. I don’t think it’s that spectacular either but at least they are still updating the system with new stuff. And why on earth does it matter if you don’t think you’ll like the “You May Like” feature?? Is anyone going to force you to look at it? Why does it need an off?
@giese095
Quick question. Did you saw Sony E3 2006 Press Conference? Watch that conference again and see what FEATURES Sony demonstrated would be on the PlayStation Network when the PS3 is release. Almost 4 years later, we are still waiting on those FEATURES.
Here is some hints

I’m still just waiting for any type of improvement to the list of games on my PS3. Come on Sony, how hard could it be to make an alphabetical sort or favorites? Listing by when downloaded or last played is not doing it.
Well depending on who holds the patent for “Cross Game Chat” and when it was granted that patent could last anywhere from 14 to 20 years. And if this is the problem with it coming to PSN then we could be waiting for a long time. Go read this link from my Google search:
http://www.inventionstatistics.com/Patent_Protection_Time_Periods.html
And that feature would fall under the utility portion of patent law; so that is my attempt to educate the masses on verbiage on the patent page.
@SPD55
Patents are pure BS
There is different ways to get around patents. Every company does it by simply just making something different about it.
Well Hater I guess you can say that since you probably did not invent anything to make money. If you have done even a minimum of search effort you will find that every Corporation has its patent around the issue starting with Nintendo in the 1990′s, Micorsoft after 2000 and Sony just recently. And if it is so easy to get around a patent by just changing something then I am sure that Sony would have done it by now.
Just look at how long it took Sony to put rumble back into the controller after they were sued for infringing a patent from another company that owned the patent. Did you see a Dualshock controller at launch of the PS3??? Cross Game Chat probably falls in to the same category and until some money changes hands and contracts signed then you will still not have that feature. Look at how Microsoft will not add HD player to the X-box Sony owns the patent to Blu-ray with others and Microsoft is not willing to pay them fees to use it.
ok i think i misunderstood the article. i was under the impression that the ‘you may like’ would appear automatically like on checkout or upon exiting the store or something. i guess the way it is wouldnt be obtrusive, which is fine.
