PSP Firmware 6.31 Now Live

07/29/2010 Written by Mike Hartnett

Hot on the heels of PS3 firmware update 3.41 comes PSP firmware update 6.31, just don’t get too excited, there’s not a whole lot to look forward to with this one.

Much like its almost barren PS3 firmware 3.41 counterpart, PSP firmware 6.31 is now live, but don’t expect much. The latest update for Sony’s handheld doesn’t deliver any new features, but rather provides the typical “system software stability during use of some PSP format software titles has been improved” update which typically is made available when Sony wants to build barriers against homebrew developers and hackers, which we’ve come to understand nearly five and a half versions later.

If we happen to come across anything new in this update, we’ll be sure to let you know. Until then, look to PlayStation LifeStyle to supply your firmware fix!

    the aren’t even bothering to mask it anymore with not even crappy features? I love my system but come on…. there’s things which are long overdue even though we’ve had some great updates recently.

    Ugh the last firmware for PS3 and PSP was like totally worthless.

  3. Eh, small, but not worth it. I wish they’d release a new firmware every 6 months or something

    @NivekKom Blame SONY!

    @unknwn123: Sony did not make your CFW so go back to the developer that created it and whine to them that you don’t have a higher numbered Firmware number!!!
