Resistance 3 Invasion Prepared for Announcement this August?
Only days ago it was revealed that Insomniac Games’ current game in development would not only be announced at Penny Arcade Expo this year, but would also be playable. However, Insomniac has now clarified when the team will be announcing their long-awaited title.
Insomniac’s August 2010 newsletter has confirmed that the studio will be announcing the next title the team has been working on within the next month. According to details this will be the last PlayStation 3 exclusive project from the studio, and is unrelated to the EA partnership for multiplatform development that was announced not long ago. The August newsletter states the following:
“…we’re happy to reveal that we’ll be announcing our newest game sometime between now and the Penny-Arcade Expo over Labor Day weekend. We’re really excited to finally reveal this project, and we couldn’t resist being the first to share the news with you.”
The newsletter goes on to add the following details:
“Even bigger news is that newsletter subscribers will be the first folks to see the trailer: the instant we announce the game – we’ll be blasting a newsletter with the trailer for you to view at home.”
One thing to note is that Insomniac’s development team announced that Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time would be their last Ratchet title. With that said, it’s safe to assume that the team are about to announce the long-rumored Resistance 3.
Since SOCOM 4′s release date was recently pushed to 2011, a 2010 release date for Resistance 3 would be a welcomed addition for this holiday season.
PAX 2010 begins on September 3rd, and the game will be playable on the show floor.

if its only for ps3 , its eitehr the r&c collection that is being rummored or it is restiance 3 . which will be awsome.
If it is R3, then lets just hope it doesn’t suck like R2, but instead goes back to its roots of R:FoM… Though, they just keep getting more and more desperate for money (probably the reason they keep getting shittier too), so I doubt they’ll actually make a good R3…
I am pretty sure they did not say that RAC: ACIT would be their last Ratchet & Clank game, I’m pretty sure they said it would be the last in the Ratchet and Clank: Future story arc.

I think it could be Resistance 3 coming out probably this year or next year.
playing both resistance 1 and 2 from launch till now, it is one of my fav games and i would say stick with the resistance 2 gameplay but upped the graphics and story. when i really looked (observed) the resistance 2 graphics for an 08 game, it was still not up to standards not even uncharted 1 standards. The story was intriguing but after seeing uncharted 2 and killzone 2 i have to say it wasnt as intense or deep.
Anyways, they said “newest game” resistance is an old franchise not new, so I wont get my hopes up.
i have come to the acknowledgment that “newest game” could mean a new ip or just insomniac working on a new game since we last saw them. but i still wont get my hopes up.
I will never understand why so many people hated R2 compared to the original. The only difference I could really see was the atmosphere in that the colors were brighter rather than an old grainy film look. I thought the gameplay was pretty much identical. I guess in my opinion a first person shooter plays like a first person shooter no matter what the minor differences might be, the way they separate themselves is with story and character development which both Resistance games definitely did well.
I bet $20 its Resistance 3. Anyone in?

Resistance 2 wasn’t a bad game just didn’t have the same feel as the original game did. I liked it only cause of the story but it felt it had too many moments of Nathan Hale and his buddies getting shot down in an helicopter which made it feel like I was playing COD. The graphics were a step down compared to R1 and kinda washed out. I have high hopes for R3 but hope Insomniac takes its time to create a better story that doesn’t seem rushed.
And where do they say it’ll be their LAST PLAYSTATION EXCLUSIVE?????? Am i missing this tidbit or is someone running off at the mouth?
l too agree that R2 was better than the first one. At least they told a story in the second game. Let’s hope the Cloven are at least in console version finally because they were awesome in Retribution

So that is just Jonathan Leack’s delusions and poor “journalism”? What’s there any need to confuse us adding this false info? Has Insommniac ever said they will stop making PS3 exclusives for you to be saying this Johnny? You know when you say that it’s the same as saying “there won’t be more Ratchet & Clank or Resistances games, ever again” ’cause those franchises are own by Sony and won’t ever go multiplat. And just the thought of no more Resistance and R&C is ridiculous not to mention releasing any new sequels as multiplats.
Loved R1 and R2,,,,,I’m just hoping that for R3 that they don’t have another 10,000 kills trophy,,,,,,getting that trophy made me put down R2 as soon as I got it.
I played Resistance: Fall of Man for a long, long time. I loved everything about it. What made R2 a disappointment was how predictable it was. There was this stupid, stupid thing in the game where you know what lies ahead of you because of the weapons you find on the ground. “Oh, a shotgun, that means theres a ton of Grims up a head.”

You basically knew what you were walking into before you even got there and that killed the element of surprise, which was what made the first Resistance so great.

sad that this will be the last ps3 exclusive game. im sure that its resistance 3 but im going to miss the series. hopefully their multiplatform games are as great as their exclusive games

i find it pretty annoying when people make up stuff. who said this is there last ps3 exclusive? last time i checked i read on here they said they will keep making ps3 exclusive games along with a multiplaform series or two.

its the LAST ps3 exclusive. it doesnt mean that their gonna stop making ps3. its the last game that will remain exclusive to the playstation 3.
so no more ratchet and clank and restiance if thats true since sony owns those titles. i’d like to see somthing offical than some rummors.
