When Media Molecule and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe revealed and released the PlayStation 3 exclusive blockbuster, LittleBigPlanet, with its “Play. Create. Share.” mantra, even the developers, themselves, were uncertain of what the creative community of the customizable platformer would craft. With LittleBigPlanet 2 coming out later this year, one would think that the creative juices are being conserved for the highly constructable sequel. However, almost two years after the original’s release, the LittleBigPlanet community continues to shock and awe.
What we have here is an almost true-to-life replica of the Activision original, Pitfall, off of the Atari 2600. User Kiminski decided to quell his nostalgia of the first console game he ever played by remaking it into a LittleBigPlanet level. Complete with visuals that are as real as the original Pitfall!’s sprites, it is safe to say that this level is almost the closest thing to the Atari classic.

Make sure to check out the Xbox 360 ‘Summer of Arcade’ XBLA game, Limbo, recreated in LittleBigPlanet as well. Click here to do so.
It’s Kiminski. I’ve played the level, I would know.
Got to love accurate recreations
This is old news. :p

I wouldn’t even know how something like that is possible with LBP…it’s great, but it makes you wonder how much time people spend working on this stuff
Holy cow that was amazing. I didn’t even know something like that was possible in LBP. This stuff makes me even more excited for LBP 2.

I’ve made all kinds of levels in LBP, but I have now idea at all how something like that could be made.
I’m quite sure you could develop a better game with LittleBig Planet 2 then on Xbox 360.
