Rage Post-Apocalyptic Release Date Announced

08/14/2010 Written by Josh Fernandes

Id Software had a very impressive showing at E3 this year with its latest game titled Rage. The game showed off tons of vehicle gunplay, claustrophobic yet immersing environments, and even giant ten-story monsters. The team behind the game who were also the creators of Doom and Quake naturally waited until today during Quakecon to announce an official release date.

Rage will be releasing on September 13th, 2011 in the United States and on September 15th in Europe. The announcement was made while Tim Willits, Rage’s creative director, showcased the game on stage at the popular Quakecon. No other details about the release date were given other than the exemplary statement by Willits saying, “We are going to have the biggest, coolest, most badass launch.” Well, I guess we’re going to have to wait more than a year for this badass launch.

  1. September… 2011. Ain’t that deflating?

Still might take a look at it in a year. If it’s supposed to be based a little on Mad Max, I’ve got to check it out.

    Perfect! Close to my birthday!

2011 is shaping up quite nicely for me: Dead Space 2, KZ3, Mortal Kombat, Infamous 2, and Rage are all day one purchases. I’m just waiting for FFversus13 and Uncharted 3 to join the party!
