Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

The world is bland and colorless, but a perfectly executed kickflip just might change that. In the latest trailer for Shaun White Skateboarding, Ubisoft gives you the sense that world is cold, bleak, and lifeless. The color palettes shown are monochrome while the people walk around almost like drones.  No one is fighting over gas, [...]

The Madden football series dates all the way back to 1989 and has been going strong ever since. This year Drew Brees, of the Super [...]

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

When Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II descends upon the million of Star Wars fanboys and girls (I’m serious, it’s the best selling Star Wars game of all time!) on October 26th, it will be unleashing some ‘jedi fury’ upon not only the PS3, but every system currently known to man that can sell a decent amount of copies. Or that was the case, until the Empire had their way. PlayStation Portable fans, you might want to cover your eyes..cause I gotta bad feeling about this!

Activision Intent On Combating Used Game Sales
Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Every industry has a second-hand market  to it, and the videogame industry is no different. People do not mind buying something used if it saves them some of their hard-earned money. Activision appears to be intent on changing that, or at least recuperating some of the revenue lost to a used game sale in upcoming [...]

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Rockstar’s infamous Grand Theft Auto series has remained the king of its genre for over a decade. Surprisingly, only a few titles have attempted to replicate its graphical prowess across a massive open world, one of which is the Saints Row series. Volition Inc. debuted the Saints Row series back in 2006 and garnered a [...]

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

In today’s world we see many companies ‘borrow’ ideas from each other, and the gaming industry is no exception. For example when Sony implemented trophies after getting the idea from Microsoft achievements, or how Microsoft copied Nintendo’s Miis avatars. Well it now seems that the well-known Infinity Ward might have nabbed an idea for a [...]

Looks like Amazon France are at it again. Last week, they potentially ousted a PlayStation 3 version of the Splinter Cell Trilogy, originally released on PS2 and PC some 3 years ago. Now they’re saying that a PlayStation 3 version of the Prince of Persia Trilogy –also released around 3 years ago– may be in [...]

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

While Tony Hawk’s last game, Tony Hawk: Ride was, unfortunately for Hawk, released to a harsh critic reception mainly due to its dependence on a new balance board peripheral, Hawk has remained faithful in the add-on’s technology. The developers will be standing by the board, and it’ll be utilized for Hawk’s latest game, Tony Hawk: [...]

In celebration of the launch of Madden 11, EA’s upcoming Madden Gras celebration is officially underway in New Orleans. Lo and behold, the folks at Spike will be giving away one sweet, custom etched Madden 11 PS3 Slim. I could try and describe the console myself, but words just can’t do it justice.

PSP Reigns Supreme in Konami Q1 Revenue Figures
Monday, August 9th, 2010

The PlayStation Portable has come under a lot of scrutiny during recent times, mainly due to the PSPgo’s high price point and Sony’s inability to release a PSP2 anytime soon. Despite the negative press surrounding Sony’s portable device, it continues to shine in multiple sale charts – most notably taking top spot in Japanese hardware [...]

Final Fantasy Versus XIII Director Talks Details
Monday, August 9th, 2010

Since being announced at E3 2006, we still know very little about Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Sure, we know the name of the main character, Noctis and we also know that gameplay will be similar to that of the Kingdom Hearts series, seeing as Director Tetsuya Nomura has directed the entire Kingdom Hearts series so far. Oh, we also know that the story is finalized, which is always nice to hear (it should be!) and some small, various random facts about the game. Good news though, Mr. Nomura has opened up and revealed some details…but there’s some good news and some bad news for those waiting (patiently??) for the PS3 exclusive action-adventure RPG.
