Ninja Theory has said on several occasions that they will be bringing downloadable content to Enslaved. Publisher Namco Bandai has now announced the action-adventure game’s first DLC pack.
Pigsy – the character pictured above – is described as a “comical porcine character”. Namco Bandai confirmed the over-sized character will be available in a post-launch DLC episode for the title. Not much has been revealed in regards to the DLC except it will be a side story requiring the retail game to play. More details on the character are expected in “the coming months.”
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is currently scheduled for a release on October 5th in North America while Europe receive the game on October 8th. The game’s demo is now available in North America and Europe.

Is it just me or does it make absolutely no sense to make DLC for a single player game…? In any case, I played the demo, pretty shitty… Haven’t we gotten to the point where climbing a surface shouldn’t be 100% pre determined? I mean complete free roaming is one thing, but seriously… When the whole thing has been laid out with no one other path its pretty pathetic. Then there is the blatant similarities to the Jak series… The terrible graphics, pathetic intro to the plot “oh i need to go somewhere and… i’m just going to have you get me there for some reason because I magically know how to reprogram something in a rock building without any logical means of doing so, so now you’ll do my bidding” (kinky sounding though, no?) then have the nerv to charge more for crap DLC…
Good environments though, though that seems to be the only thing they can do.
2 Blkant:
That’s why it’s called a DEMO, at least wait for a decent review. I’ll probably be picking it up, reminds me of Uncharted 2… like playing a movie with hopefully a decent plot.
The demo was fucking great!. At Blkant there is nothing worse than trying to be a badass in a game and stuck cause you have no idea where to go. You know how frustrating it would be crashing into the fucking building over and over in the demo if you didn’t know where to climb. Broken controllers galore!
Buying day one and whatever else it has to sell me!
Ya I have to say I completely disagree with Blkant. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about the demo and I just don’t get it. I thought the art style used was fantastic. Nothing disappointing in the graphics for me. Did the platforming seem simple? Yes, but I don’t enjoy platforming so much that if I make one simple mistake I either fall to my death and start all over or get lost and have to spend a majority of my time in the game figuring out where to go. The way I see it platforming is just something to do while you’re waiting for the next battle or next part of the story that makes traveling a little more exciting than just running from spot to spot.
I’ve also seen people complain about the combat. The demo is the very beginning of the game. Chances are there are ways to increase your abilities and make combat much more complex and difficult. The demo was like a training course, which is what the beginning levels in all games are, so PLEASE don’t judge a game like this so quickly when you only have the demo to base your opinion on.
sweet tits
I’m not one of these people who cry foul at the mention of dlc, but I just dont understand why it gets announced before a game is even released. Is that supposed to make more people buy the game? I probably won’t be getting this one anyway. I thought the demo was lackluster. I dont like how loose the camera feels in relation to the character movement, there combat isn’t exactly responsive, and I know it was early in the game, but there were way too many cut scenes/scripted events. It was breaking up the flow.
^ its to show future support. some games I didnt hear about it before selling, or opting out of buying like Borderlands, and bioshock 2…
While I agree its not something I want to see like Dead Rising 2 costumes, which WERE preorder items being sold for 2 usd a pop.. if they do it now or 5 weeks from now… its not like it makes an actual difference
As much as I loved Heavenly Sword, I will NEVER play this game.
Ever.
the game seems to be mediocre judging from the demo.People say it has great graphics.Actually it doesn’t,very low quality textures but the rich colour palette makes up for them giving the illusion to many that it has high quality graphics.Heavenly Sword had much more quality in that department. The platforming is way too easy and the combat seems to be boring.
Rental for me.Castlevania which is being released around the same time seems much more promising that justifies a full retail purchase.
Guess we’ll wait till the full game comes out.
They tried but… This game is just disappointing. I guess Uncharted 2 has me spoiled. Everything in this game just seems low quality and I played the demo… Very linear gameplay and loose controls. You can’t even JUMP. C’mon it’s partially platformer and there’s no jump button?
I’m far from interested in DLC for any game that hasn’t released yet. I’d much rather they say “We’re planning on doing DLC, but haven’t started on it because we’re focused on the core game”. Sure, its a lie, but I’d rather they at least attempt to make it look like that. Oh well, whatever.
This is really getting old with this DLC announcing before the game comes out. Why don’t they just make it part of the game rather than just be greedy about it?
didnt have much interest in this, but now that theyre announcing dlc before its even released, im sooo buying this… NOT!
Nukea6, you said it yourself. Greed. So sad. The days of making the best, bug free game to make your supporters happy has turned into a game of “lets nickel and dime these suckers”. Im not completely against DLC, dont get me wrong. A great example of dlc would be criterion in Burnout Paradise. They supported their product for over a year, much of it was FREE. GTA4 did a great job with their dlc also. But that was TRUE dlc to expand the game way after its initial release. These douche bags are doing the complete opposite. F U ninja theory.
