Red Faction: Battlegrounds PS Plus Beta Invites Getting Sent Out; But You May Not Get One

Sony had promised that select PlayStation Plus subscribers would be receiving a Red Faction: Battlegrounds beta invite. The invites are now being sent out but you may not get selected to take part.
The Red Faction: Battlegrounds beta is now starting to hit PlayStation Plus subscribers’ PSN inbox. It weighs in at 714MB. The PSN message sent by [PS Plus] says:
“Congratulations! You have been invited to participate in the Red Faction: Battlegrounds Beta! The Private Beta takes place from 10/05/10 to 10/19/10.”
The message contains a link to download the beta from from the PlayStation Store. However, not everyone will get an invite as Sony
stated a few weeks back that not all PlayStation Plus subscribers will be eligible for some of the upcoming betas.
“Betas have limited invites and based on selection criteria not every PlayStation Plus member will get access to every beta; however, we’re working with game developers to make qualified PlayStation Plus members the first to gain access.”
Red Faction: Battlegrounds will feature destructible environments and will also support four-player local and online pick-up-and-play multiplayer when it releases sometime in 2011. The PSN title is described as “a fast-paced multiplayer-focused vehicular combat game in which fast-attack vehicles, heavy tanks and combat walkers wreak havoc above ground and beneath the surface of Mars.” Let us know if you’re on one of the lucky PlayStation Plus subscribers to have received the beta via the comments section below.

Didn’t get in and this is complete BS. I think SONY (Sony Computer Entertainment America) should have made it clear from the very start that not all members would into the betas. European PLUS members all got into the AC2 beta, while only “selected” few were selected from the US. This is fucking lame
they did tell you, read next time
Just checked this AM…. Got into the Beta!! Cool… Will check it out after work and report…..
it was made clear, and why does it matter? I find all the plus hate funny, I am not saying its good but come on…
you dont get to keep the games… yet if you buy plus endlessly isnt that the same as owning them?
you dont get beta’s… yet how many beta’s are there really? how many do you really think you deserve? I am level 18 on psn and only got invited to the MAG beta, but the rest I was overlooked. I even signed up for the EA Deead Space 2 beta and was rejected. dispite filling out the forms, and doing the extra work.
you dont get into every beta… the japanese got into no beta’s, and lets face it, whatever thing is going to restrict you is going to be amount you play… its not like their going to go “hes level 15 on psn, plays daily, bought plus… rejected.” its mostly to keep the rift raft out… which only makes sense
On the other hand, I find it lame that you have to be a plus member to get into betas. I was in quite a few before this service, and now I have a much lower chance of getting in. I guess I’m not actually too terribly worried about it, certainly not enough to pay for plus.
i bought PS+ JUST because i had hopes for a brotherhood beta with it, and it happened, and i got the beta, my PS+ life is complete, now i’ll just keep buying PS+ cause i’m a gamer!
It was made clear after the fact, not before Plus was purchased by many.
Peace,
VG
I’ve had PS+ from the start, and have yet to get into any betas.
I’m in. Got the message around 11:30 pm last night. Downloaded it (around 750MB) and played a few levels. All vehicles that I played. I only practiced with the single player stuff but was too tired to start on the multiplayer. Will try that out after work today.
@KMA_Jackson: Let us know how it is!
I lost my Plus account the day I got exepted into the beta lol. Must have been w/ in the hour muwahahah =D
I don’t know if PSN level matters. I’m at level 5, and I got an invite. I did dl RFG from PSN, maybe that has something to do with it…
BTW, the game’s fun, not top ten, but still fun.
