PlayStation Move Heroes Crowned New Title for Sony’s Project

10/09/2010 Written by Jonathan Leack

Judging by a recent move by Sony, although Heroes on the Move was a well-liked title for the upcoming co-op PlayStation Move game featuring several PlayStation mascots, it simply wasn’t enough. The company has since decided to change the name of the title to something a little less flashy.

The PlayStation 3 exclusive Heroes on the Move has officially had its name changed to PlayStation Move Heroes. While the new title is more concise, it doesn’t seem to carry the clever ring with it that the former did.

What do you think about this wild name change? Which do you prefer and why?

  1. Perhaps the new title will make more sense to casuals who are just strolling through the PS3 section of a retailer, but the previous title was awesome. I don’t see any reason for the change.

I liked the last title too – but I wonder what the new and is supposed to imply… There are no PlayStation Move Heroes yet, there haven’t even been any real games for the PSMove. It’s like they’re implying that all of these characters were from PS Move games. The old title implied that these heroes were NOW on the Move… I liked that

  2. I always thought the “Heroes on the Move” title sounded stupid to begin with. In my opinion, having the word “move” in your title makes it sound like a short gimmicky game to me, which automatically dissipates my interest. I also think the “Playstation Move Heroes” is a dumb name too. I think “Playstation Heroes” sounds just fine, and having that sliver of blue line at the top of the box art next to “Exclusive on PS3″ read “Move Required” is enough to tell people that it’s a Move game. But when I think of a title like “Playstation Heroes” it makes me think of a Sony Super Smash Bros. game. Which would be amazing by they way, and makes you wonder why no one has made that for either 360 or PS3.

I liked heroes on the move as a title. But it was obviously going to be changed with *working title put all over it. And on playstation home in the move area, theres a stage where you can watch a video on move games and one was “playstation heroes” that showed heroes on the move footage

If they are going to change it to that they should eliminate the word “Move” and just call it Playstation Heroes and slap the Move Compatible logo all over it. Those characters aren’t the heroes of the Move, they are the forever beloved mascots and heroes of Playstation itself.

    how about:

    PLAYSTATION´S Heroes on the MOVE!

I’ll admit it. I didn’t get the old title until I read the new one. Now that I do get it, I liked the old one better, but I understand why Sony changed it.

    hello …

Heroes on the MOVE had a better impact, i don’t understand why they changed it, unless they want to use it on another game that will be more likely a ‘Heroes on the MOVE’ game :P

    I like Axl Rose’s idea ;)

    cheers!

  8. I like the old named. It fitted to its name nicely and it had a ring to it.

old title wasn’t very good, just integrating the product name in a game starring some PS mascots reduced their charisma, but we can be afraid of the new name o.O
