Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune has all the makings of a great movie. In fact, a complete script has already been written to adapt the game into a motion picture. However, talks fizzled earlier this year in securing a director for the film. That appears to not be the case anymore, and we are one step closer to seeing Nathan Drake on the silver screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, David O. Russell has closed a deal to write and direct Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, which will be an adaptation for the first game in this popular series. As we reported back in May, Sony and Mr. Russell were originally talking about creating a movie version of the hit game, but things fell apart. Things seem to have changed, however, and the movie has essentially been given the green light. Avi Arad, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are also onboard to help produce the movie. No cast members nor a release date have been decided upon yet, but rest assured as soon as PlayStation LifeStyle learns these details you can read about it here!
[Thanks, Joshua L.!]
Thanks for the input Paul. Sounds like a plan.
Joe Flanagan for the part of Drake…….Nathan Fillion is also a good pick but Joe Flanagan resembles drake a lot more
Fillion all the way. He looks close enough, and would play the part perfectly.
have u ever watched SG: Atlantis or seen Joe Flanagan he plays the part perfectly also because his character is very similar to Fillions character Mal in FireFly but besides the point i wouldn’t mind either of them getting the part of our beloved Drake……..and if you haven’t seen Atlantis i suggest you should because SG Atlantis is what FireFly would have been if it had a chance to go beyond 1 season…..you know and minus the StarGate lol
Please just let them make it right and not a total cheese fest….! Alot of game / movies end up sucking da balls….! This has to be right or……
Oh boy here we go… another great franchise is about to be ruined by Hollywood. When will they ever learn?
you are right and wrong bigwoopmag, The movie is going to suck, that’s undeniable. the likelihood of some movie studio making a good (even, fair) 2 hour film out of an already fantastic series and finding decent actors to portray the already lovable characters is nil. However, unlike how the Tomb Raider series when downhill fast after those disaster films… I think ND has more Uncharted games in them and will deliver like they have so far.
The Franchise isnt dead, but dont bother with this film less you love wasting money.
