Castlevania: Lords of Shadow producer David Cox has openly acknowledged that a rare, game-crashing bug, is currently plaguing his game. Fret not Vampire Hunters! It will be fixed soon.
As previously reported, there is a massive error that causes crashing in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and corrupts the user’s save data. This issue only exists on the PlayStation 3 version of the game. David Cox has addressed this issue on his Twitter account and had this to say:
“We are looking into it. This issue only affects a very small number of users. We have a fix and are currently testing it. Patch incoming. To be safe make sure you periodically back up your save.”
It is wonderful news to hear that Konami has found the issue and is actively working to change it. What is probably even better news however, is that backing up your save data to an external source is a viable option to keep your save data, should you be affected by the problem. At least it isn’t a glitched door or level that leaves the game unplayable. Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle to find out when the patch goes live, and you can get back to your game.
Glad I’m not one of the people this affects.
I’ve been playing everyday since release. Theres nothing for me to “get back” to haha. I really feel for anyone who was affected though. This is why you keep copies of your save files on whatever storage you use boys and girls, and this is also why copy prohibited saves suck. My power cut out one time playing Demons Souls, and I nearly hyper ventilated before I loaded it back up with everything ok.
no problems here yet….. gonna do another back up tonight any way, just in case…
Just copy the save. You dont need to do a whole backup.
heh, thats what I meant. I thought about doing a whole back up, but if that backs my music and videos up, it’ll take all week.
Played all the way through chapter one last night. No problems loading the game after taking breaks. Good to know Konami is working on a fix though.
This is a good game. Deserves better reviews than its getting. So far the review here and the one on PSXExtreme.com are the fairest i have seen.
