New Gran Turismo 5 Screens and Details Emerge

10/16/2010 Written by Allen Tyson

The delay of Gran Turismo 5 hasn’t stopped the hype machine from moving forward. At a recent event that took place in Taipei, Sony provided a first class showcase of GT5 in all it’s glory. Coming out of the event are images, game details, and a couple of videos that just might shock you.

According to a translation from the event, GT5 is set to give gamers the following:

  • The ability to select clothing for your A-Spec driver and possibly put on civilian clothes. Once a choice is made this apparently can’t be changed.
  • An interesting statement about connecting to  “Global Servers”. It’s unclear if this means the world is now your driving playground, or if the servers themselves are simply able to handle—and separate according to region—global traffic.
  • The GT5 Racing Pack.  The pack will be sold in both China and Japan. In China however, the Racking Pack includes a GT-branded  glass that looks quite exquisite.

If the images weren’t enough, two videos that show the game engine at work were released that are stunning. I won’t spoil it for you, but the physics and weather engines are a sight to behold. Personally, I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of one of those black stealth cars you’ll see below.

GT5 will be here soon and fans have much to look forward to. Now if we can just get one of those events over  here…

I want the carbon fiber Nissan GT-R and McLaren F1.
This game is going to be the standard to beat for racing simulators.

Now I need to get a new PS3. I got the YLoD and don’t really feel like fixing it again myself. Nor do I know if the fix will even work again. ‘Tis a sad day. :(

  3. Cool… but if it ever actually gets released XD

That’s unfortunate. I feel sorry for you. Hope I’ll be able to fixe that before game’s launch. How did you fix that yourself before ?
