This Gorgeous Gran Turismo 5 Racing Rig Costs More than Some Cars

11/03/2010 Written by Corey Schwanz

After nearly six years of delays, Gran Turismo 5 looks like it will finally be upon us. But what could make the “real driving simulator” into an even more realistic experience? By practically sitting in a real car.

The racing fanatics over at Vision Racer have created the greatest, if not the largest video game peripheral ever. Even beating out the $200 controller for the Xbox game Steel Battalion. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the VisionRacer VR3 Racing Simulator.

For the low, low price of just $1,295** you get the custom-built VisionRacer VR3 Rig, the VisionRacer VR3 Gearshifter Mount, and the VisionRacer VR3 LCD & Console Stand. But even if you decide to buy the entire setup, you still need to provide your own Logitech G27 Steering Wheel, monitor or HDTV, PlayStation 3, and 2.1 or 5.1 Sound System. Truly incredible. If you started saving money for GT5 when it was announced, you’d probably have enough money to get this by now.  Check out the video below, if only just to drool.

If you get one of these systems, be sure to let PSLS know what it’s like!

**Cost of the system does not cover the price of delivery or local tax. Did you think it would be that easy?

With the way it has been delayed you still have time to save for it. Or how about the one from Dubai for 10K…

    hello ..

this is just way too expensive, unless if it makes coffee too :P

If i really wanted to feel like inside a car, i would go & drive a real car, yet i really like those custom setups that adds some value to gameplay. i still think i would play the game with my DS3, or maybe get a good wheel controller…. well if i do get the game before it’s too late.

    cheers!

Looks fabulous, but I’ll be sticking with my homemade wheel stand that i made out of a 1X12 and a 2X4 lol.

  7. I’ve been giving some thought about how to build something like this, i guess i should thank them for the design lol :P
