Leaked PlayStation Home Pics Indicate New PDA System, Status Updates and More

PlayStation Home Core Client Update 1.4 doesn’t go live until November 11th, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sneak a peak at what’s to come. We recently came across some leaked pics from the Home Beta… Beta, if we can call it that, in the Official US PlayStation Forums and we thought you might find them interesting.

First, Home Community Specialist Locust_Star confirmed that the Home wardrobe system would be experiencing a significant overhaul, and it appears that part of that overhaul will mean simpler, faster interface options through the PDA, much like the new start-up screen that users are used to. Next we notice that users will now have the ability to select a status for their avatar, making it easier to let others know that you don’t want to be bothered, or that you want to get a game going; this may even grant users the ability to change facial expressions, which many have been asking for for some time. Then finally we have a small lizard, which can apparently be enabled in public or private spaces, much like the bubble machines that Home users are used to, adding to the interesting, albeit useless, addition of pets in Home.

The images showing off these new additions, which are likely to be included in the 1.4 update, or shortly thereafter, can be seen below.

If only we had a thumbs down option…
I actually quite enjoy Home with a few friends.

If only we have a thumbs up option. Home is overrated and I can’t believe people waste money on things that are virtually useless (4$ for a golden toilet that isn’t even a game or can be used in anyway other than decorating some fictional room?)

      • Hah, for some people that’s the only way they’ll ever get to sit on a golden throne. Incredibly useless though – its amazing how many people pay for useless virtual items.

  2. I do. What about it? Different strokes for different folks.

  3. It’s actually a nice break from normal gaming from time-to-time.

@Vanilla HOME IS NOT A PLAYABLE GAME. Home is a Social Gaming Environment, Sony has failed big time on that fact. If you can Google Home’s history you would find out that it was scheduled to be released during the PS2 days but when PS3 came out they reworked it to what it is today. It is based on a MMO Gaming lobby where many people could gather and chat etc. It has its limits and although it is not completely finished (never will be) hence the current BETA tag.

Looks like these updates are fixing some issues and giving the community things that it has been clamoring for. All though the one thing that many PS3 users have wanted and the PSBlog will light up with every-time we have an update is that where is cross game chat (VOICE). So adding these items is like working on a virtual reality environment. I am waiting for the HOVERCRAFT that we were promised and some other items. But I am very patient and know that some things will take time to develop.

  5. Sorry I made some of you butthurt. People actually hang out in that crap?

don’t get mad because you got proven wrong

Yeah we do and Home has a lot of good attributes. But most of what is in this article comes from the fact that this information was found on the Hong Kong Home forums, again some one surfing outside the NA region and finding information that may or not be related to the update that SCEA will be dropping on Thursday Nov 11, 2010. And until our NA Home Managers speak out about the extra details I will be calling all this information what it is as RUMORS!!!!

And no my butt did not hurt. But you did out yourself as a ??????

Home can be kinda cool at times and kinda annoying…it’s cool that u get to watch movies and stuff, but the buffering time is agony ( for my slow router anyway) and it’s TORTURE for girls! We can’t even sit n watch a movie without someone buggin us, but hey it’s all worth it if I get to walk around with a pet lizard! :D I’m gonna call mine DA Lizarnator!! :P
