Gamers eagerly anticipate famed film director Guillermo del Toro’s game – which is set to be unveiled during next month’s VGAs. Currently, little is known about the title, but a source “close to the project’s development” has stated that it might be be a Sci-Fi RPG trilogy.

According to an anonymous source who apparently spoke to MMOMFG, Guillermo del Toro’s title may be a sci-fi role-playing game. And the title may also even be the start of a trilogy. The source says the game is “along the lines of Mass Effect.”

Also, MMOMFG has learned that the plot of the games within the supposed trilogy will focus on inter-dimensional travel, which sees the player investigating and checking open portals that must be closed.

What do you think the Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy director is working on? Let us know in the comments below.

I don’t remember watching any of the guy’s movies but we need some decent RPGs. So I hope it will be epic. Speaking of Mass Effect I can’t wait for ME2 to release in a couple of months.

  2. That actually sounds pretty cool even though it is quite vague at the moment. I hope it is a good game and it gets more Hollywood directors to make games. I also think it would be interesting to see someone like Jaffe direct a movie.

I doubt he decided to completely change his game when its so close to the reveal. Unless its like an RPG where you fight horrific aliens.

I haven’t seen Hellboy, but Pan’s Labyrinth is an extraordinary film. Whether or not the game is competent from a technological standpoint remains to be seen, but I’m sure that Del Toro has a more than adequate story to tell.

  5. whenever i hear guillermo…i think of the gay president of peter griffin’s toy company.

  6. I liked Hellboy – one of the few movie franchises where I actually liked the sequel more. Never saw Pan’s. I wouldn’t buy a game based on who’s directing necessarily – I need to see the game play genre and elements first.
