UK Retailer Predicts Gran Turismo 5 to be Huge Success
Once the new Gran Turismo 5 release date was announced, sales went through the roof in the States. Now, a large online retailer has shown that the UK’s reception of the news was very similar.
The UK’s fastest growing online retailer ShopTo.Net has predicted that Gran Turismo 5 will be the biggest selling PS3 game of the year – something which is expected from what is probably the most anticipated PS3 title thus far. Also, the retailer said it has become their current biggest selling pre-ordered title with still over a week to go until the game’s release. ShopTo Marketing Manager Philip Driver told Gamasutra:
“We’ve never seen anything like this before. As soon as the new release date was announced the sales just went through the roof. This is a game that most PS3 owners have been waiting a long time for. Luckily we have prepared well and will be able to get GT5 to everyone that orders for release day.”
Gran Turismo 5 is scheduled for a launch on November 24th. For those who plan to pre-order the racer with ShopTo take note that everyone that pre-orders the game is automatically entered into a prize draw to win a supercar race day worth £900.

That like predicting that the sun will rise in the morning.
Because its one of the few games that could go this long with delays and such without deterring its fan base. That in itself is a credit to the series.
