Get the PlayStation Android App In Any Region (US Users)

The official PlayStation App for iPhone and Android has been released in the UK. Anyone outside of the UK is was sorely out of luck. Thanks to a little tinkering, we’ve got the direct to download file, bypassing the Android Market and allowing users from any region to enjoy the app.

Please note: this app is only available in the UK at this time, so many of the features are tied to the UK. For example, this app will only access the EU PlayStation Blog. When the US (or other region) version becomes officially available, we suggest you delete this app and install the proper app for your region. We are not responsible for misuse of this file or possible damage to your Android phones. We suggest you only attempt this if you are familiar with installing apps from your SD card.

If you’ve read this far and are still interested, click here to download the PlayStation app .apk file.

Move the file to your phone’s SD card and install. Don’t forget to allow apps to be installed from non-market sources by going into Settings > Applications > then check the box that allows apps to be installed from Unknown Sources.

We used Dropbox to more easily move the file from our PCs to our Android phone using the Dropbox app for Android, but you can just go the standard SD card way.

Special thanks to kharma45 for the tip!
