It’s time to suit up and defend PlayStation Home! The Helghast are invading, and we’re the only thing that can stop them from taking over our precious social space.
The central plaza in Home is about to be transformed into a defensive war zone in preparation for the Helghan assault that will be brought forth in Killzone 3. Hop in to the battle on January 27th, when the Central Plaza Defender game will become active, allowing Home users to participate in a FPS Killzone 3 themed mini-game. The game will consist of three levels in which players will shoot down various Helghast infantry, vehicles, and airships. Completion of all the levels will reward Unlock Points for use within the full Killzone 3 games, giving a head start to those who want a competitive edge online. It’s also been mentioned that other Home rewards are available for participation in the events, whether it’s shooting the bad guys or offering support to fellow players by running ammo and supplies to them.
That’s not all there is to find though. A special stand in the area will allows players to pre-order Killzone 3 through Amazon, rewarding them with the following bonuses.
Make sure to note that the jetpack for your Home avatar bonus is ONLY available by ordering through the kiosk in PlayStation Home, and not by going straight to Amazon’s website. Codes for the jetpacks will be mailed after Killzone 3 ships. If you choose to go straight to the Amazon website, the other two bonuses are still available. Totaling the 3 Amazon bonus Unlock Points and the 3 Unlock Points available in Home, you stand to earn 6 Unlock Points before even playing Killzone 3. The Helghan invasion of Home will last about a month, and Killzone 3 releases February 22nd. Are you ready for the fight?
