Japanese magazine Dengeki has recently asked its readers to provide their favorite characters, games, and developers of 2010. These polls are always very interesting consider the vast difference in tastes between eastern and western gamers.
While many of the choices sound about right, the one that really stuck out is God of War’s Kratos coming in as the 4th most popular character of 2010. Equally as surprising was Call of Duty: Black Ops ranking in 22nd out of 30 games.
Big thanks for Scrawlfx for the full list provided below.

Sony Japan needs to step their game up.
That is a terrible list. Seriously.
matter of opinion.. i think that list very good, has some good games on it.
you have to also remember that Degenki is a japanese Magazine…….so of course there going to have a different list as to an american magazine……it’s all difference of opinions in this case it’s a different countries preference in game……in my opinion it’s a crap list with japan being biased as always with games making japanese games come out on top instead of europe or american games…..well at least some of them are included in the list i guess
I was just thinking that this list totally blows too! How is SF IV vanilla on there? That came out in 2009 people!
kinda surprising to see some western games there, and I’m really surprised Kratos is so high on that characters’ list for a game that barely breaks 100K sales, I guess it’s equally unbelievable it’s on the top 15….I guess Degenki subscribers are not the typical japanese gamers, I mean yeah most of the games are JRPGs and the pure japanese inbred *crap*, but for games like GoW3, RDR, Fallout, Call of Duty to make it so high on any japanese list it either means lots of foreigners are subscribed to that magazine and/or many of them are hardcore gamers that don’t care about country of origin or genre of their games.
