Xperia Play Gaming Exclusively with Sony Computer Entertainment

During the PlayStation Meeting of 2011 in Japan last month, Kaz Hirai took the stage and announced their latest venture dubbed PlayStation Suite. While this meant that “PlayStation Certified” Android devices would receive a PlayStation Store for PlayStation content, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has a card up its sleeve that gives it the upper hand.

Announced at the Sony Ericsson Xperia event on February 13, Kaz Hirai made yet another appearance and, afterwards, the mobile phone company revealed that Sony Computer Entertainment will be developing content exclusively for the Xperia Play. This content is, of course, not apart of the universal PlayStation Suite application and will utilize the power of the gaming smartphone to give players a true HD experience at 60 frames-per-second.

Clearly, the Xperia Play packs a punch when it comes to hardware specifications but what will the price of the device be? Unfortunately, this will be announced at a later time by the various wireless carriers
