New BioShock Infinite Info Coming This Week

03/09/2011 Written by Adam Wolfe

When Bioshock Infinite was finally announced last year, gamers were blown away by the trailer. Shortly thereafter, we got a glimpse of some actual gameplay footage, which made the title even more enticing. Unfortunately, since then we haven’t heard too much new information on the game. Finally, 2K has announced when gamers will be able to get a little more info on the title, and it’s sooner than you think.

Today, 2K Games has announced that Creative Director Ken Levine, Art Director Nate Wells, Lead Artist Shawn Robertson and Senior Effects Artist Stephen Alexander, will be speaking to a panel at PAX East, in the Manticore Theatre of the Boston Convention Center between 5-6pm this Friday.

The discussion will be focused on the main location in Bioshock Infinite – the floating city Columbia. How they decided on the location, the inspiration behind it, as well as a host of other info will be revealed. Ken Levine, Nate Wells, and Shawn Robertson will also be holding a signing session on Saturday.

So get all your Bioshock memorabilia together, and head out to PAX this weekend.

Nice. This is my most anticipated multiplat at the moment. Interested to see how this turns out on the PS3 since they have stated they are going to deploy some of the rendering and lighting techniques used in Uncharted 2 by Naughty Dog.

  2. I loved the first Bioshock; an amazing game even though I’m not too big on shooters. However, I played the second one for around three hours and have never put the disk back in. I have no idea why, but it just didn’t click with me.

I’m hoping that Infinite (which I think is the same team from the first game) will have whatever it was that I found so compelling with the first one. I loved the trailer we saw last year and it got me pretty psyched, so there’s hope…
