  1. What makes this any different from the NGP, except the ability to send and recieve phone calls?

Interesting….I wonder if the Xperia has a similiar set of TOS, prohibiting people from reverse engineering sony’s new phone?

LOL….I bet Geohot cracks it like a coconut. ^_^

    • NGP is handheld gaming device(with extras)
Xperia is a Sony phone that’s PlayStation Certified
I think that kind of says it all.

    • Well the DMCA precedent has already been set for mobiles, so he should be able to hack it without any problems. However, I wouldn’t be too surprised if Sony used it in the current lawsuit to show that Hotz is intent on damaging SCEA/SNEA and Sony in general.
It’s quite different from the NGP, mainly in what it doesn’t have – back touchpad, full PSN integration, incredible power. But its best not to see this too much as an NGP rival, and rather as something you should pick up if you were in the market for a smartphone.
It looks like a great android device, so gamers might as well get it over other phones. One can never have enough gaming devices imo.

    • The games really won’t be Sony quality games. They’ll be really awesome mobile phone games.

  2. Interesting….well, it makes little difference to me anyway. I wont be buying another Sony product untill the PS4 comes out….IF it does. Sony kinda killed it for me, when they tried to suggest that we had no rights over our property. But thanks for clarifying the major differences.
