Kojima Spent a Year Preparing For Something That is Now “Meaningless”
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has stated that something he spent a year preparing has become meaningless. The renowned developer took to Twitter to discuss how he cannot be positive any more; possibly hinting at something related to his projects.
Other than his unannounced adventure title, the projects the Kojima is currently working on include his NGP title (which more details will be unveiled during this year’s E3) as well as his secret taboo project.
However, the developer has now taken this thoughts to Twitter where two tweets read the following (his English account – which is controlled by his staff – wrote the translation of his original non-English tweet):
I cannot bear, and cannot be positive. What I prepared minutely spending a year became meaningless.
Another translation from a NeoGAF reader says:
The thing that I spent one year delicately preparing became meaningless. I can’t take it anymore (this is unbearable), I can’t say (stay) positive.
What do you believe Kojima could be referring to? His taboo project perhaps? Seeing as we haven’t heard anything regarding that for countless months it may have been canceled. Share your ideas via the comment section below.

Without knowing any more than what he’s saying it seems a little bit dramatic, but I am interested to hear more about this. I’m not saying he’s totally overreacting but I would like to know more before I believe a year is truly wasted.
This is sort of depressing. I have always seen Kojima as a very positive and optimistic person. It is somewhat disheartening to read this. My heart goes out to the guy.

Metal gear solid for the 3DS perhaps?, I would make sense to me knowing that the NGP is right arround the corner…

You actually make a very good point. His statement sounds like something a person would say after a bad break-up or end of a friendship. Still just as disheartening though, for me at least.
Just curious, what does the word preparing mean to you? I have no idea what he would even have time for while making two games. I like that you’re thinking outside the box but the wording doesn’t really go along with it as far as I can tell.

I wonder if this has something to do with Peace Walker being remastered for the PS3? Maybe he had something different/better in mind and this somehow ruins it.

At this point it could be anything. I can’t help it but remember that Kojima tends to be a little melodramatic at times. For all we know it could also be hype for something he’ll reveal in E3. I say that cause I mean…he’s Konami’s VP!
In saying that I hope is nothing to do with his personal life or actually having to cancel one of his games. If it’s a cancellation I’m guessing it might be the already mentioned “Taboo game” or Zone of Enders 3.
exactly,at times he is melodramatic.He did said he was disappointed with MGS4 even before it’s release after all.
he didn’t clarify that his new project is canned (if that’s what he’s talking about)and he is still talking in riddles.
either he’s building hype for it,or excusing himself in that manner because he doesn’t want to show at E3 anything of it yet for various reasons
with kojima talking like this does anyone think he’ll pull a Keiji Inafune by just leaving the company out of nowhere lol

Wow. He sounds really upset. I imagine someone as dedicated to their job as Hideo is would take a game being canned this hard. It could be something persernal though whatever it is I hope he’s ok
