Minecraft fans addicts often dreamed of the day when they could an play their favorite block-stacking, and creeper-avoiding, productivity killer on the go. Well, if you happen to have an Xperia Play, then you will be among the first to have such a privilege.
On mojang.com, the official blog of the company behind the multi-million dollar generating game, they finally let loose what looks to have been in the works for quite some time, if the below demo video is any indication. Minecraft will finally be playable on your cell phone. The Xperia Play will get first dibs on the game, and as developer Daniel Kaplan shows, the smartphone is more than capable of providing a satisfying experience in the palm of your hands.
No release date has been announced, nor when the game will make the jump to other phones, but it will be demoed at E3 this year. So, who’s ready to survive the nightly horrors that await in the world of Minecraft?
Now I’m buying a play. My PC can’t even run Sims 1 so I had no hope of ever playing this, looks like I know what I want my first phone to be.
Damn, that sounds like one dinosaur of a PC then!
This is probably why the e3 meeting will be 5 hours they will probably display some games like minecraft
Yes. I’d love to try this on an iPad. I imagine just touching where to put blocks would be very handy.
This might get me interested in the xperia play. Earlier i haven’t seen any good in the phone, but now i feel like it is epic to sit on the bus and really have braindead fun. I love how you can turn of the game whenever you want, and don’t follow a story.
Oh, and i forgott. Do anyone know if it’s comming to NGP? i don’t want to spend 1000$ (Yep, FRKN NORWAY) on a “cool phone” with minecraft when i can wait for NGP and get the same game + that NGP is cheaper and MUCHMUCH cooler.
The NGP does not run Android, so it’d be up to the developer to port the game over…That’s up in the air at this point.
thanks pmc
This is great news for those Minecraft addicts out there that have the Xperia Play. I have to admit though if I had a Xperia Play I would definitely buy Minecraft just to see why people love this game so much.
Using a D-pad in a 3d environment makes me sad. I’ll stick to the PC.
