Brand New PS3 Television and Glasses Announced

06/06/2011 Written by Corey Schwanz

3D is such a ground-breaking technology that everyone should experience it, but it unfortunately is kept from the large audiences by it’s entry price. Not anymore.

Taking the stage at Sony’s E3 press conference, President Jack Tretton announced the first official gaming-branded 3D television. To break the monetary barrier, Sony is offering a 24-inch 3D television, perfect for personal yet immersive 3D gaming. Along with the new low-priced Active Shutter 3D glasses for $69.99, 3D just became a lot more accessible.

But that’s not all. Coming this September, the 3D bundle for the ages will be coming out. The PlayStation 3D TV, a pair of the new glasses, a 6-foot HDMI cable, and Insomniac Games’ Resistance 3 will all be included for a mind-blowing $499. 3D is the future, and now everyone can try it.

  1. $500 for all of this really is an amazing deal. I can see a nice amount of 3D tv’s being bought because of this bundle.

This is a great bundle. Im glad Sony is making 3D gaming affordable for everyone. I love Sony so much. I know I will get in this bundle

That is a great price for the bundle considering everything it includes, I just don’t know how many people will be satisfied with a 24 in. TV…I guess for that price it wouldn’t really be like you’re losing out on anything though. You could just as well buy the bundle and then use an output to send the signal to a larger TV and use the smaller TV as a more portable unit

Not bad, but it’s pretty small. I think most people who want and can afford 3d TVs would want a larger one. if I If this came a little bit earlier I probably would have bought it; I just bought a 23 inch computer monitor and this probably would’ve worked in its place.

Truly an amazing deal for the current technology but unfortunately everyone knows in a year or two you will be able to buy a 50 inch 3D TV without having to use glasses at all and even if it’s fairly expensive at first that is what everyone will want to flood to. I’m not sure if I can wait that long but with the small screens already getting the treatment it’s certain the big screens are next. Having a Superbowl party where fifteen of your close friends can be wowed by amazing 3D is enough for me. Uncharted 3D is just another huge plus.

  6. Brilliant idea, I’m sure Sony will sell truck loads of these TVs
