After announcing a 3 year DLC deal with Activision at last year’s E3, we knew it was going to happen, but it still makes us sad to write about: Modern Warfare 3‘s DLC will be coming to the 360 first.
Announced live at Microsoft’s E3 conference, Activision revealed that the DLC would be coming to the 360 before the PS3 after premièring a lengthy live demo from Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling that included underwater gameplay and a firefight from within a submarine. After showing the video, the E3 screen flashed “add-ons and map packs coming first to Xbox 360″.
Stick around for more coverage of the conference, right here on PSLS.
They might as well make it a complete exclusive in my library. Since this is no way to treat a multi-platform community.
Is it better to only provide DLC to one system like has been happening with PS3 lately? I hope you boycotted Mafia 2 and AC: Brotherhood as well.
And the news is?
this isn’t news besides EA does the same thing for PS3 some times
XBOX BING EXCLUSIVES Searching………………. Found 0 entries
yeah and same with youtube and all of that
we as ps3 gamers should put a stop to this kind of arrangement. it is a bit unfair that ps3 keeps getting shafted. we should just stop buying games that favor one over the other. i understand that these are deals made with MS to help with advertising and funding. but if this is the route devs are taking just make the bloody game an xbox360 exclusive. it is unfair to the gamers in general to have to endure this kind of stuff. same effing thing with homefront. ms does these deals bcuz they have NO EXCLUSIVE titles so it makes their userbase feel like they got the best deal by being on xbox live. it is harmful to the gamers and devs in the long run cause they alienate 2/3 of the gamers that are also buying their games. multi-platform should mean that all platforms be treated equally. sonetimes devs make the ps3 feel like an afterthought. it has even spread to gamesites as well – showing mostly 360 footage of multiplatfoprm games (crysis2, homefront, etc. gametrailers i’m looking at you)
i watchrd it on spike and to me didnt impress ..battlefields game footage looked new and most impressive
Yeah the game footage looked the same as the old games. It was just the same game with a kind of new story, i will admit that the boat part looked cool. But I am excited to see what BF3 has to show
i hope playstation comes out strong i havent seen anythimg im mad about for 360 yet except that avatar thing for kinect where its actually u, but i know move can do stuff like that but ps doesnt seem to care about your home avatar on your xmb but i think it would b great
From a Money aspect this is really the Smartest move for Activision. They are most likely betting on the fact that if your a gamer paying to play online for the X-Box then you can afford the new elite service they are coming out with, I have commented on this at other places and this decision to charge for the elite service could be the beginning downfall of this series. Although this is GREAT news for EA and Battle Field 3. I see more and more talks about BF3 out doing projections against MW3.
It some cases they refer to COD as the next MOH when it comes to BF3.
So.. I wouldn’t be to broke up about it. Go with or make the transition to BF3.
This is no loss to us, their E3 was a joke and they need all the games that actually require physical button presses they can get after that preschool kinect show. Disneyland, wtf? Have pity on the xbox players guys they’re hurting.
who really cares so 360 gets a couple maps before PS3 as long as infinity ward and sledgehammer games make MW3 playable from day 1 on PS3 unlike treyarch i will be happy
So, what else is new about this article’s topic? I could’ve told you this was going to happen… again. Not really news-worthy.
That’s a shame. I have an EXCLUSIVE LIFETIME PROMISE to never buy or own an Xbox 360 or any future Microsoft consoles. I also have an exclusive lifetime promise to never buy or own an Activision title of any kind, including COD.
So…suck it, Microvision.
Does that fucking surprise anyone nowadays
I called this right when I saw MW3 on the 360 screens on spike, just like last year with blops. Next year it will be a new cod game.
honestly if you are going to pay for a timed DLC exclusive, MW3 is probably the best game you could do it for…everyone wants to buy the game, everyone also wants extra free stuff…My thoughts are that Microsoft saw this as the only way to combat all of the PS3 exclusives during the year. If you don’t have any games to go head-to-head with the competition then why not push your sales by trying to capture the audience of the best selling game franchise ever??
On one hand Battlefield 3 is doing the same to 360 users but instead of maps it is a whole game. Looks like EA is trying to pull the COD crowd starting with PS3 owners first.
This really isn’t much of a surprise to me. I believe Microsoft has timed exclusive dlc for all Call Of Duty games in till 2013 or 2014.
