Idol Minds Announce Ruin, A Cross Compatible “Social Action RPG” With Cloud Saves

A lot of announcements that came out of the Sony Press Conference were unexpected. A lot of interesting news came out about games that feature connectivity between the PlayStation Vita and PS3.

Developed by Pain developer Idol Minds, Ruin was shown during Sony’s E3 conference. The upcoming action RPG, will feature cloud storage for saves. This means that if you are playing the game on PlayStation Vita, you can stop the game and then continue right where you left off on the PS3. During the press conference, it was announced that many more games will be shareable between the PlayStation Vita and the PS3. Sony wants to make PlayStation Vita and PS3 interplay a big focus for the future.

I wasn’t impressed with their version of “right where you left off.” It picked back up at the beginning of the same level, yes, but how I felt about that would certainly depend on the game in which that happened. Oh well, still a cool feature and the game sort of looked like the way I wished Dungeon Siege:ToA was.

    • yea, i definitely want to see this feature implemented in more games. What they have showed off isn’t the best, but I’m sure it will get better.

    • I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure they bs’d that part of the presentation. I mean sure it’s probably going to be a pretty seamless transition, but there wasn’t even ANY loading. He just hit load like it was resume. So i’m thinking that’s what it actually was, just hitting resume on the ps3 that was set up at the start of the specific area.

  2. Looks interesting, the ps3 version was much more smoother but I take into account this a game in progress not a complete version. And yes it did start back at the beginning after the cloud save
